Orienteering race (FH Bull Run Yellow) 1:02:54 [3] 2.49 mi (25:16 / mi) +135m 21:38 / mi
ahr:117 max:152

Pepper took a different route choice to 7, which resulted in me bellowing - Pepper, Pepper, and such. And Boris diverting from his training to assist, and then having Pepper shepherded my way from #1. Like to think "lesson learned", but she so likes running free. Maybe the 15 acres in the country will happen sooner than I think.

Worked on wearing Pepper out a bit before working a shift at the QOC event.

AP tagged this as Orienteering, and, sadly, it said our Yellow race, which we won, was Peppering. :)
12 PM

Peppering (To the Start) 4:23 [1] 0.27 mi (16:13 / mi) +3m 15:46 / mi
ahr:110 max:132

Orienteering race (Pohick Bay Yellow) 53:49 [3] *** 3.02 mi (17:49 / mi)
ahr:129 max:153

A tough Yellow course, which explains why Pepper and I won. Turned my left ankle between 1 and 2. Obviously, I have not learned my lesson - must wear ankle braces, must wear ankle braces, blah, blah, blah.

Dropped an F bomb, albeit not too loud, in front of a family of four. The father asked several times if I needed help. My first instinct was to walk back, since I was so close to the Start at that point. But, I didn't want to disappoint Pepper, or myself, so I shook it off, and off I went, to blow pass CP 2, after also blowing pass CP 1.

Settled down after that, and while I bemoaned not having but the studded shoes on at times (and the ankle braces), I made it around OK, and it was a super fine day.

Note

Bummer...I accidentally set the activity on my new FR 35 as cardio, so it appears that I don't get the GPX with this setting. Very sad.

Took Pepper out for a walk before heading to Rocky Gap to time EX2 Greenhorn. Should have taken her with me. It was the perfect kind of day for her - not too many people, and not much stuff to spook her. Oh, well.
