Running/Walking (Neighborhood) 35:15 [1] 2.8 mi (12:35 / mi)
shoes: Saucony Hurricane 6

Finding it difficult to see past my growing gut, I was motivated out the door today. Ran down to Shirlington and then home through the park. Ran 815 and 449 (half), walked 437, ran 503 (half), walked 1231 (including the hill home). Good day considering I am feeling the weight and the breathing is out of shape.

Biking (W&OD Ashburn to Leesburg) 1:15:41 [2] 12.55 mi (6:02 / mi)
shoes: NB 1100 Trail

Diane picked me up at the house and we drove to ~24 mile mark on the W&OD. I live right near the 1 mile mark. Plan was to ride to Leesburg, detour to Balls Bluff Regional Park (site of QOC O meet during WP weekend) and then back to car. Would have been my longest bike ride. However, after locking the bikes at BB, the key was broken off in the lock when unlocking them. So, I called Roger and he drove the hour out to get us.

Walking (Balls Bluff) 30:00 [1] 1.5 mi (20:00 / mi)
shoes: NB 1100 Trail

A walk around Balls Bluff with the O map while waiting for Roger to pick Diane and me up. Beautiful day, and despite the lock incident, I enjoyed myself. Luckily, we had attached the lock to the two front wheels because we only had the one lock. So, we were able to remove the wheels and load the two bikes and the two front wheels into the car. If our luck had been really bad, we would have locked up properly to a post and been in bigger trouble...

Running (W7OD/4 Mile Run Bike Trai) 1:09:00 [2] 5.6 mi (12:19 / mi)
ahr:142 shoes: Saucony Hurricane 6 S10

Had Roger drop me off in Falls Church and then headed home on the paved bike trail. Breathing painful for 1st 30 minutes - to be expected since I haven't done any significant in a month. Ran when I could, and walked in between. Tried not to walk for more than the distance from one emergency marker to the next. Same blister of the inside heel of my left foot. Will need to try blister block and tape it the next run... Some of the miles were 1030, 1130, 1127, 1130. Walked more at the end...
Beautiful day out, especially on the 4 Mile Run Trail which is hillier but more shady. Did about half on the W&OD and half on the other.

Misc 1:00:00 [1]

Spent 6+ hours moving things back into the basement, and out to the trash for pickup (they took everything I put out, yeah!!), and into the car to take to the recycling center (about 40 bags of papers and magazines). Very good day, though my hips are very sore... Ankle black and blue and sore today, but not a weight bearing problem.

Misc

Got two new rugs down and stuff moved back on that side of the basement. Banged my ankle moving a piece of furniture. Did all the work by myself while my husband hid upstairs - thank goodness. :)

Misc (0)

Came home Friday night to a flooded basement. Front gutter plugged with Magnolia leaves and Oak droppings (those things that blow around the street like tumbleweed). I checked the gutters about 2 weeks ago - nothing then. Anyway, entire basement wet. Spent 4 hours Friday night moving things and getting up what water I could. One closet full of boxes with papers.

On Saturday, I escaped the mess to work an event near Flintstone, MD. Excellent day.

Sunday, it was back to basement duty. Made executive decision to trash the 3 area rugs. Got those cut up and carted out. Letting the tile dry out another couple of days and then will put things back. Though some of the boxes of paper (they are all Roger's) are going to be "put back" in the trash.

Good day considering my lack of activity since West Point. Hip and knee felt fine. One 8 minute error - the rest just slow and steady with some time lost to hesitation. Beautiful day and good company.

Note

OMeet, Epunching, 4 hours.
