Note
QOC A-meet in the books, almost, but wanted to jot some thoughts down about the weekend.
Pluses
Night-O - woohoo! If I hadn't glanced at the map ahead of time to look for possible radio control sites, then I would have been the F55 US Champ. But that's OK, for sure. I just needed to get out into the woods, and I did, and I didn't break myself too much.
Amy, Sandy, Sara and Tori - what a wonderful Results team. I couldn't have done all the gee wow without them. I hope they are not as sore as I am.
Results Display - so much fun to see people standing around watching the results, comparing notes, even in the cold, and it was freezing cold on Friday night.
QOC - Meet Director, Jon T pulled it together, and Heidi O, the volunteer scrounger extraordinaire, recruited the most impressive list of volunteers, as well as created the most detailed volunteer assignment schedule in the history of man.
Get out of Jail Free card - I think I managed, barely, to not need to use it this weekend.
Best "Pro" of all is that maybe the closest thing to a "Con" I have, which I have to apply to myself, is that the awards ceremony started late today. Thanks to some last minute self disqualifications for running on the road, and having to redo the label setup for some unknown reason, it started about 15 minutes late. Will have to prefect the labels on the medals process for the next time. [Edit: giving myself a partial pass on the lateness of the awards ceremony since the race started 17:57 late, I think I was equally as late with the medals. :)]
So, that's all for now. Next is RouteGadget.
Note
OK, one other semi-con - I am ticked off that I didn't see the Lyn/Sharon, with George in the wake. Look forward to reading walk's account. And if he doesn't do it justice, then I will have to instead.
