Saturday Oct 24 #

Trail run 43:00 [3] 8.3 km (5:11 / km) +120m 4:50 / km

Trying to get some Turfs in Mugdock. Felt a bit slow so happy to have to stop occasionally. Felt better by the end.

Friday Oct 23 #

Cycling-commuting 25:00 [3] 9.8 km (2:33 / km)

Cycling-commuting 28:00 [3] 10.4 km (2:42 / km)

Gently home, visited some Turfs for the first time.

Thursday Oct 22 #

Mountain Biking 1:11:00 [3] 21.3 km (3:20 / km) +230m 3:10 / km

Out WHW to Rosies Rd, back through Craigallean and Khyber Field with extra loop round the loch and a further loop at the reservoirs. Muddy and getting slightly gloomy by the end.

Wednesday Oct 21 #

Hill run 58:00 [3] 8.5 km (6:49 / km) +250m 5:57 / km

356 clockwise with an excursion to the boulders with Piper's* grave. Very boggy to and from it. Getting pretty dark by the end at 6:30, almost running by brail in the forest at the end. Good outing with Ian and Steve.

* Piper was a doggy according to the inscription

Tuesday Oct 20 #

Running-Garscube 45:00 [3] 8.4 km (5:21 / km)

Out with the suitably distanced Garscube Juniors. Impressed by how well they were all running on a dark, damp evening.

Monday Oct 19 #

Cycling-commuting 25:00 [3] 9.8 km (2:33 / km)

On the damper side of moist.

Cycling-commuting 25:00 [3] 9.4 km (2:40 / km)

Wet and gloomy.

Orienteering 45:00 [3] 5.7 km (7:54 / km) +220m 6:37 / km

Andy P set up some maprun courses on Gleniffer. We used them for some training. This was quite tricky terrain and rather hard work, made harder by me GPS punching 7 a valley over from where I was expecting it and getting very confused thereafter. Later I went 12-15-14-13-14-15, which wasn't ideal (and even worse was witnessed) and went through the finish (so Maprun stopped my time) on my poor route to the last control. So a nominal DNF but great to be out in terrain.
