Orienteering 37:39 [3]

JK Relay M120+ (same as Men's Open) First leg. More of a fight than an orienteering race at the start. Pushed into wall, branches in face and then huge melee at single punch on third(?) control. Better after that, enlivened by an insert map at 1:5,000. Surprised to keep seeing Simon G. Some pretty poor orienteering in places, and the area made up for the lack of brambles on Wass.....

Kilnsey JK Day 3
Never been here before - some very nice bits with some running between them. Brutal in places and fun in others. Weather was interesting - cagouls compulsory (with good reason). Warm up was walk to start and cower behind wall from wind and rain. On course it wasn;t too bad, but I avoided the bruise inducing hail that the latest starters endured (those that completed).
Another pretty clean run and 4th on the day and 4th overall (M50). Surprised and pleased with the result. Possibly the first orienteering I've raced and enjoyed since before WOC, although I didn't feel as fast as I would like (who does?)
