orienteering 1:00:49 [3] 4.3 km (14:09 / km) +230m 11:10 / km

Sage Stomp Middle - nice open and forested, hilly terrain. Started slow to find control number 1 and get into the map. Started last in the W21 Elite category and thought I would never meet any woman but somehow ran into Tori at the beginning and Kerstin and Meghan in the second half. Walked hills and other chunks of the course but found all controls just fine. Ended up second after Louise.

orienteering 30:00 [2]

Junior session at Rice Lake, placing some flags and ended up with a keen group tonight, I had to actually run to keep up with them.

orienteering 34:55 [3] 3.9 km (8:57 / km)

WET at Cleveland Dam set by Thomas, good course with some climb and two two longer route choices. Everyone went a different way to 16.
Got cut off by some angry dog on one trail and had to change my great route to a not so nice bushwhack. Fun!

Note

A long walk in very warm day, from home to Seymour River, to BP, Lynn Creek and all the way home, some hills.

orienteering 1:14:50 [3] 5.2 km (14:23 / km)

Why Just Run Rice Lake - expert course, did not want to run the elite, it felt far and not friendly and that was a good decision, this one was just right and long enough. Easier start with some trail running where I felt very slow. Fun part came in the second half, challenging orienteering, walked a lot, did not want to fall too often over these logs. Had one or two good legs, otherwise I found it mostly by chance :) even if I did not follow on my first ideas of route choices :( and kept changing my mind taken by some nice pieces of the forest.
For sure start to feel like carrying another person. It looks that I suppose to run a minute faster. Could run at least five minutes faster if I actually tried.
