I took my achy legs for an easy spin with 10x20" strides. Ticked off a few streets, too, I think.

Running intervals (trail) 46:37 intensity: (12 @0) + (4:34 @1) + (26:26 @2) + (12:22 @3) + (2:56 @4) + (7 @5) 6.82 km (6:50 / km) +13m 6:46 / km

Spent the morning bouncing between the Animal-O station and orienting a couple of Tot Lot families that came out to the event today. Finished up with the Short White course with Lukas, Melissa, T and his mom. Made the rookie mistake of starting them off with only one e-punch. I fixed that problem after the second control.

After all that, and the unseasonably warm weather, and the unappealing summer-looking woods, and my missed run yesterday, and my deadline to be back in Cambridge for my softball game, I decided to just go for a run instead of orienteering. I took a green map and ran along trails more or less going backwards, sighting a few of them along the way.

10x[1' hard + 1' easy]

A bit rough, energy-wise, but it was nice to run in the shade and on trails.

Playing ball (softball game) 20:00 intensity: (10:00 @1) + (8:00 @2) + (2:00 @5)

Note

Picked up Lukas' buddy T on the box bike and rode them both to soccer/playground time, then back again. It's hard to imagine much training effect from pedaling two kids five miles in flat Cambridge with pedal assist, but I do feel the effort in my legs, so maybe there's something?

They love riding in the box together and have the cutest conversations along the way.
5 PM

Playing ball (batting) 15:00 [1]

Taking swings at the batting cage. I think my swinging muscles are getting a bit more used to this. Timing is better, too. Several hours later I can still grip things, we'll see how my hammies are tomorrow.

Easy right after dinner, ticking off some streets. 4x15” strides.

Ran very easy to the place that sells running shoes, bought shoes, left the old ones, and ran back in the new ones. Via Trader Joe's.
