Once the boys were back from 10mila Sam and I headed out for a little shake-out run. Delightful day and great company. Surprised at how perfectly fine my legs felt. Tired, but fine.

10mila leg 3 for NSK4... sort of.

Someone mixed up the NSK3 and NSK4 packets and we all ended up with the wrong bibs. Those following the results might think that I had a really awesome run but they should really look at NSK3 and check "Magdalena's" time, because that was me. Whoops. I was hoping they would manage to fix it but I'm not sure anyone cares enough to change the names. Which is going to bother me probably for all of eternity.

Livelox (using my own name)

This was hard and tiring and just thinking about writing it up is making me more tired. I'd like to do a nice write-up but I'll need to set aside some time and caffeine. :-)

Gym with Amir.

On Monday I told Amir that I wanted to make sure I wouldn't be too sore on Saturday, so he said we'd do something a little lighter today. I showed up, mentioned that I was running the longest leg and that it would take me a long time (close to two hours?) and he was like "ok".

Did the whole workout. He seemed distracted and was far less chatty than usual. At the end he said something about how that was a good, tough workout, and I said something about hopefully not being too sore on Saturday, and then it was suddenly clear that in his distracted state he had totally forgotten that we were going to take it a bit easier today. So... hopefully I'm not too sore on Saturday!

Running (trail) 39:13 intensity: (13 @0) + (10:08 @1) + (27:15 @2) + (1:37 @3) 4.71 km (8:19 / km) +60m 7:50 / km
ahr:150 max:171 shoes: Alex (TrailTalon 275)

Short evening trot in the backyard. Beautiful day, spring warm. Surprised at how not heavy and stiff my legs felt. I think the pre-run lunges and leg swings actually made a difference. (I was not very optimistic.)

Snow report: from Grinda it's almost all snow-free except for the ski trails and some of the marshes and shady holes. After crossing Langmyr there was a fair amount of snow to be found in places without southern exposure, calf-deep or so. Didn't venture very high up or far in so I'm not sure how it is a bit farther out but probably usable soon.

Note

NSK teams for Tiomila. Our first men's team and first youth team are especially strong contenders. First women's team is also good, of course, but not at 100% capacity. Or maybe I should say it's at >100% capacity.

I'm running leg 3 for NSK4. It is long (10.9km) so I will need to continuously remind myself that these are Swedish km and not Norwegian km. And pack gu.

Note

My thoughts on AZ's passing: Fuck.

Canada and the global orienteering community are so lucky to have had Adrian. We will never again see his infectious smile, or witness his amazing knack for organizing in action, or get new tips on awesome O photography. But we can all try to emulate these qualities of his and continue to make the world a bit better, just like he did.

Gym with Amir. All lower body stuff today, with some bonus rounds of running up the stairs two-at-a-time. We did Romanian deadlifts but with the same weight as last time, which only made me a bit sore, so I think I'll be pretty decent tomorrow. It's working!
