XC Skiing (classic) 1:06:20 intensity: (34:13 @1) + (31:00 @2) + (1:04 @3) + (2 @4) + (1 @5) 9.91 km (6:42 / km) +128m 6:17 / km

It snowed more (good) but it is warm (0) (bad) and I had trouble with kick. I don't know why I bother when it is like this.

Also Lukas is sick again so that's awesome.

Short afternoon outing from the end of the road. Langmyr to Ankerveien to the road and back. The snow is all dried out again after the mini warm spell and rain earlier this week but we could use a little replenishing on top of the very hard base. Thankfully that's scheduled for tonight!

Strength/Core 1:05:00 [2]

Training with Amir. We switched out the Romanian deadlifts for regular deadlifts today and I found those less enjoyable.

Lukas has had a few good nights of sleep in a row now which means something like 7 to 5. We can definitely live with that but it will help to get to bed early if our favorite playmate is going to raring to go before 6.

Running (track) 32:34 intensity: (22 @0) + (6:06 @1) + (22:44 @2) + (3:19 @3) + (3 @4) 5.5 km (5:55 / km)
ahr:152 max:177 shoes: Kara (Roadclaw 275 V2)

We're having a mini-thaw so it is really gross and treacherous out. I wanted to run so I headed to the indoor track at Bislett. Took forever to get there and forever to continue on to work, so it ended up being a lot of time for not much running. However, it was fantastic to run in shorts and be able to move my legs freely, not worrying about slipping or sinking into mud. It was not a day for speedwork but I did do a bit of a progressive run, speeding up on each lap a bit.

Soreness report: barely sore. I'm sure tomorrow will be a little worse but this is already a huge improvement over last time.

Stretching/Yoga 15:00 [3]

Had to take a break in the middle of the run for a phone conference so I stretched while I listened. Hips hips hips hips.

Strength/Core 1:00:00 [2]

Training with Amir. I'm going to be sore this week but maybe not as much as last time. Excited about how this is going, I'm learning proper form for stuff that I had no idea I was doing poorly (especially squats), and he's pinpointing weaknesses I didn't know I had.

Stayed home with Lukas this morning so Melissa could teach her one class of the day, then we swapped so I could go to work. He's definitely been sick but it doesn't seem to be the same thing we had and he was quite chipper this morning, fortunately.

Note

Of course we weren't going to get through this without Lukas getting it, too.
