Orienteering 1:15:00 [1] 3.0 mi (25:00 / mi) +400m 17:41 / mi
ahr:116 max:151

Hogencamp training, start through control 14. At this point, because of my late start, I decided to take the trail back to Kanewaukee Circle rather than risk running out of daylight.

Hiking 30:00 [3]

Hiking out from Hogencamp Mt. near #14 to Kanewaukee Circle. Picked up trash on the way back. I was not surprised that there was trash by the roadside. I was surprised that there was trash along the trailside, but into the woods a good way.

Orienteering race 30:30 [4] 2.13 mi (14:19 / mi) +150m 11:45 / mi
ahr:151 max:169

Green Sprint. Bobbled an early control, fouled up #5 (first woods control), then the rest of the run was pretty clean. It is exhiliarating to experience the "flow" I have been close to previously, but never really *in*.

Mountain biking 30:00 [2] 4.0 mi (7:30 / mi)

MTB near Dingmans Falls. I parked at the falls, and wanted to ride to the falls and take pictures. Bikes are prohibited. Grr. Too many hikers, maybe not a wide enough trail. It wasn't a long hike to the falls, but I did want to get some MTB in, and not hobble further, so I biked across the toll bridge into NJ. (No tolls for bikes. :-) ) Bridge deck wasn't really wide enough to pull to the side to take pix of the Delaware River, but coming back into PA, I tried to snap a few. The water at Dingmans Falls area looked muddier than it did where I-84 crosses over the river. Maybe that was an illusion.

So after returning to PA, I biked on a trail down to the campgrounds and back. No one else was on the trails. Nice surface, crushed gravel, with a topping of fallen leaves and pine needles. Very peaceful.

Did not have time to linger, as I had to scamper to Newburgh for more camping and some Harriman exercises.

Orienteering race 2:02:13 [3] 6.29 mi (19:26 / mi) +900m 13:27 / mi
ahr:146 max:175

Much cleaner orienteering today than yesterday. Couple of minor mistakes, couple of conservative route choices, but good contact generally.

Orienteering race 1:35:00 [3] 3.87 mi (24:33 / mi) +700m 15:43 / mi
ahr:140 max:172

Middle Green. Started out OK, but made a few serious errors. R. calf kept my speed slow enough that I should have been able to maintain contact.

Orienteering 50:08 [3] 2.09 mi (23:59 / mi)
ahr:128 max:158 shoes: Salomon trail shoes

Running around on the model maps at PEEC. R calf is definitely sore, which I only notice when I run. Maybe this weekend I will not move faster than I can understand the terrain.
