Orienteering race 1:44:38 [3] 5.0 km (20:56 / km)
ahr:146 max:177 shoes: Jalas2

Green course at Boojum. Lost contact a couple of times, but generally was making reasonable sense of the map vs. terrain. Going to #17, I slipped on a rock, shatterin the capsule of my compass and mashing a finger. As a consequence of the fall and the pain, and perhaps until I noticed that the needle of my compass was behaving erratically (at which point I switched to my backup compass), I went off-course, requiring a relocation rather farther away than I should have been.

Orienteering 20:00 [1] 1.0 km (20:00 / km)

Picked up 4 yellow controls.

Cycling 25:00 [1] 5.0 mi (5:00 / mi)

Biked an errand in honor of Earth Day, including biking up to the drive-through window, which gives me a bit of pleasure. Both my road bike and my biking skills are a bit out of shape.

Road running hills 21:40 [2] 2.0 mi (10:50 / mi)
ahr:150 max:176 shoes: BA10

2 repeats up Westwood Hill. Up1 6:17; down1 4:44; up2 6:15; down2 4:24. Pretty feeble.

Road running 57:00 [1] 6.0 mi (9:30 / mi)
shoes: BA10

Salisbury out-and-back, late afternoon. First sighting of wild turkeys near Salisbury Hill, even though the chilly weather brought to my mind "The Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald."

Road running 38:00 [1] 4.0 mi (9:30 / mi)
shoes: BA9

Hilly Moreland loop, afternoon. I am pleased to say that I did not break stride to a walk in spite of the steepness of Moreland St. Perhaps it's the lingering inspiration of the Boston Marathon athletes.
