Morning drill session. These are definitely helping to ease of the legs each morning and making days sessions slightly easier to cope with.
10 AM

XC Skiing (Classic) 56:48 [3] 11.8 km (4:49 / km) +234m 4:23 / km

Headed a little further up the valley to Skei for a little bit of a change. It wasn't a fun change. There was a hill a very large hill.
Did a little double pole practise, technique seems to be coming along OK just need to get a little more confident on the big downhills.
5 PM

Running Road 39:28 [2] 7.25 km (5:27 / km) +283m 4:33 / km

Only one ski session today so I went for a run after some time on the range. For dropped off at the shop down the him and ran back via the range. There was more climb than I expected and the roads were icy so it was quite hard work.

Did a little bit extra today as everyone's legs are feeling a little sore after yesterday.

XC Skiing 1:10:49 [3] 14.68 km (4:49 / km) +200m 4:31 / km

A longer classic ski today. Technique seems to be improving again nice to go out and go somewhere different.

XC Skiing 9:36 [1] 0.73 km (13:09 / km) +15m 11:56 / km

Stationary warm up followed by being shown the loop we would be doing intervals on.

XC Skiing intervals 36:31 [5] 6.96 km (5:15 / km) +116m 4:51 / km

First proper interval session. 10 times around a 3 minute loop which seemed to be mostly up hill.
Absolutely dying after 5 of these.
Been a big day feeling quite tight.

A harder session this afternoon. Lots of double poling and going up shallow hills. A few intervals dragging partners.

The morning drill session. A little longer today.

A short skate this morning to try keep working on the technique.
Had a bit of a route issue to begin with but found a good loop to practise on.

Running on Paths 10:40 [2] 1.4 km (7:37 / km)

Sort jog back. Thought it was best not to try and ski down the ice slope behind our house.

Morning drills to try and loosen the legs.

A short jog down to the range to meet our shooting coach. Felt a little stiff, not been running for far too long. Will have to add in some running between ski sessions.

XC Skiing 39:43 [3] 7.62 km (5:13 / km) +241m 4:30 / km

Went out for a bit more of a casual ski just so that everyone could practise their technique. I think it is coming together a bit more.

Running on Paths 7:54 [4] 1.57 km (5:02 / km) +31m 4:35 / km

Ran most of the way back after the range to try and get warm.

A short jog and some drills to help loosen the legs off.

Some more skate technique training. Starting to click a little more but still a lot more improvement needed.
Doing short loops of different drills, some involving towing people along.

Second session of the day. Legs feeling a little sore but technique seems to be improving.

Note

Unfortunately I have had to spend the last 3 weeks on exercise so I have not been able to do any training.

I arrived in Norway today for the Regiments Nordic skiing training camp so I will be doing some serious training for the next few months.
