Moved up to Catterick last night and thought I would go and have a look at the gym.

A load of plank to start. Followed but a mix of core exercises and press-ups.

Run on the coast. Found a nice new route that went along the beach which was harder work than expected.

Hodson's Horse Oreinteering. Harris relay. This was pretty easy, running was fine although my map reading is a little dodgy.

Hodson's horse XC race. The regiment somehow managed to pull enough strings to get me off ranges and compete in the cross country for them. Race went well and I managed to come third. Felt like I was running well as well had a bit of a bad patch about 2 miles from the end but managed to hold on and take the QRH guy I had been battling with just near the end. Unfortunately an RTR guy came storming past at the very end.

Set of planks. Followed by a mixture of core, leg exercises and press-ups.

Jog out of camp and up the farm track opposite.

10x 2mins on 30secs recovery
The route was fairly undulating but the intervals were fairly evenly split between up hill downhill and flat.The first few of these intervals were straight into the wind which made them a little tougher.

Final interval started heading back up towards the centre of West Lulworth, afterwards I decided to jog through the village and do a 5min effort up the hill back to camp which was a little disgusting.

Legs feeling it now but felt like a good session.

Little bit of a jog around the car park and to the start with a few drills thrown in.

Drogo 10. First attempt at a race for a while. Start at the castle then then dropped down along some tracks to the bottom of the valley. Route followed the river for a couple of miles up the river along an undulating track. Just off the back of the leading group at this point then started going up the first hill and this is where I started dropping back a little. Once at the top had a short descent onto another track that ran about halfway up the hill then started to climb again. Once at the top of this one had a fun descent down to the river again. I was running quite well along the bottom of the valley back towards the castle. Crossed the river at a stone bridge then started climbing again. Suffered on this climb and someone when past me luckily. Once at the top came on to a slightly undulating track along the edge of the valley and I managed to over take the guy that had got me on the hill.
Need to lose some wait again, struggling up the hills. I was running quite well along the flats and on the downhill.

Did a bit of a circuit
Pull-ups, press-ups, a core exercise and then a leg exercise.
Doing 3-5 pull-ups (normally 3) and 10 press-ups each time. Normally doing 20-30 on each side for the leg exs. Not sure how many times I repeated it think it was about 9 times.

Ran the 8 miler loop from Wednesday. The hills felt even more brutal than normal as the head wind was brutal. It did however make the run back feel a little easier, getting pushed across the tops.

Legs were a little weak after these.

CO's PT. Bit of brutal one this time. The troop had to continually carry a log and stretcher around a figure of 8 loop. The Sargent decided to save me and the other troop leader just for the stretcher. So had to do some long reps leading over while running next some short people.

Another go at an 8 miler along the coastal path and back through the fields with about 25kg. Didn't feel very good on the coastal path and felt I was really struggling on the hills. Felt better on the way back though and managed to run a lot more of it.

Core session. Trying to do some press-ups. MAnaging a few but having to do them on knuckles as hand really doesn't want to move.

Run back from Wool to Lulworth with a head torch across the farm tracks. Legs feeling a little heavy from the rowing.

Bit of core. Wrist came out of cast today so tested out some press-ups had to do them on my fist as don't have enough flexibility to do normal press-ups yet.
