Chicago marathon. 3.09 personal worse, but all thing considered not too bad.

Good fast course and took it steady running with Jon and Ross for first 5km and Jon up to 10. feeling relaxed and glute ok so pushed onto 3hour pacers. Really busy to 15km so just went ahead to find space. Through half way in 88.44 but body already complaining, hip flexors and glute.

The 3 hour pacer train passed at 25km or so and I’d come off the pace and worried if I’d finish. Jon caught just after and I stayed with Jon to 30km. After that nothing in legs and quads tightening with chance of cramping, so slowed down and watched Jon disappear.

Next 12km slow and sneaked a couple of walks to pace in for sub 3.10.

Ross 2.57 and Jon an excellent 3.02
