A bit of jogging - before leg 4, saving hip for the race

Easy victory for FVO team.

Harvester leg 4. Kicked off very steady wanting to be as clean as possible in the dark knowing I had an 18 minute lead going out.

After lots of sprint training needed to adjust to scale early on. Lost 1 minute being overly cautious to #4 with long route and still missed path.
#11 missed path and ended up running beyond control and having to loop back - 90 seconds
# 14 featureless bingo control and was a little to the right - 60 sec
# 20 misses control and had to loop back - 60 seconds
# 25 30 seconds confused at end

Not bad - 5 minutes of mistakes with no big ones. A little hesitant being careful paying off. Tired at end but hip not much of a problem, which is great pass for world masters with 10km clocked up for 7.7km course.

Would have been a very different run in the light with lots more straighter routes.

Received a map of Meggetland sprintelope, via Jon and Ackers. Unfortunately printer wasn’t playing and only had black and white version. This made route choice and picking up multi levels very tricky. Lost a fair amount of time on levels at craiglochart sports centre. Also feeling heavy and slow. Managed to take victory by a couple of seconds from Ben Brown, from the sprintelope.

Skipped orienteering after enforced train journey to work after m9 closure. Thought about cycling all the way home but fair headwind meant finishing at Falkirk a more appealing option.
