Orienteering 27:40 [5] 6.5 km (4:15 / km)

VHI relays, this turned out to be a fantastic race. Donald came back just behind John on first leg, who handed over to Hilary who stayed in the pack. Running order out into the forest on last leg was Dave R, Chappers, Andy M, Roger, Geoff, all within 3 minutes. Fast and furious racing with straight forward navigation. Geoff managed to catch up 50 seconds at which point I had caught Dave and chappers. Then it was a straight head to head with Geoff for the rest of the course through spectator control and last 2 km loop.Very easy technically at the end so it was a test of who had the running speed. Managed to get half a yard punching last, pretty much at maximum with hill on the run in to go. Total effort to the finish for the victory. Great atmosphere and support into the run in.

England victory in ind and relay, but at least some Scottish pride maintained getting a victory in the man, woman man event.

In the other relay Claire stormed round in 7 minutes clear, coming in third.

VHI's Ireland - individual - Tollymore, this was a cracking area for what appeared to be a very long steep hill side. Managed to miss the torrential rain showers, but the going was very wet, with loads of large boulders making it pretty tricky. lost 3 minutes at number 9 which left me game over to beat Marcus (70min) and in the end was beaten by Geoff by 40 seconds. beating the 40's helped with disappointment,
