Can Andy Murray make it a first grand slam event? - sadly not. First time I've felt Roger Federer is getting annoying - too good. Too good for Andy, who put in a good show, but not at extreme high level needed to beat Roger.

Long warmup for the city race - worried about calf, 5 minutes warm down

So good to be racing even if I had to hold back. Early mistake at #1 30 seconds and scappy near the end.

Ran on the edge of being pain free. Holding back particularly on the flat and downhill. Difficult to go slower than I wanted, on such a great event and area.

Sunday morning - greatly encouraged that calf feels ok.

Run from Boat of Garten into Loch Vaar - very snowy

So foolishly left snow board at the Day Lodge overnight by mistake. Not there in the morning, and someone obviously fancied it. So hired ski's. Second time skiing in 24 years so really hard work.

First hour spent carry jamie on shoulders up the slope and running back down to keep up. He was over 4 stone with ski's on. Hard work being 18 stone in the snow. Now I understand Lard!

MTB on the road from Braco to Perth via Crieff. Didn't realise quite how slow MTBikes are on road. Nasty headwind on the exposed long straights from Crief to Perth - it was a killer.

Calf a little sore this morning.

Ride from Gogarburn up to the edge of the pentlands and then back through into town. Snowy paths seemed ok and gradually built up a bit of confidence.

jog after biking in the snow up Blackford hill to have a look around. Calf felt ok, but not strong.
