I've given myself something to aim for with the Brighton 10k in November.
A goal: sub-36 - this is equivalent to shaving 30s off my 5k pb earlier in the year, so a big stretch but definitely possible (especially as the 5k was on a foul day with not much specific training behind it)
B goal: sub-37 - this would bring my 10k pb into line with 1mile/5k/10 mile
C goal: new pb so 37:45 or better
And to get there:
3-4 weeks of little/no running but plenty of yoga and x-training
6-8 weeks of base building so lots of slow/steady running as and when I can get out
8-10 weeks of a proper training plan
Who knows how much of this will feel realistic in 2 months time when the little one arrives but for now it feels good to have something to work towards.
