Scottish Day 1 - Achagour
Bit of a disaster. First half was ok but quite scrappy. Sometimes decent navigation, but also poor attention to detail caught me out at #7 and #15. I missed the road run at #15!
So it was going ok but not stellar - and then I turned my left ankle badly on the way to #17. From then on it was damage limitation and I suffered a bit on the way to #23.

Nairn sprint
Fun way to get into the week. I really liked the mix of dunes, urban and park terrain. Good run apart from #8 which I got hopelessly wrong.
Sausage and chips half an hour before wasn't ideal but did stop me from pushing too hard!

Barnes Common park race
Great area and course to end the series. I was in the right frame of mind and ran hard but in control all the way. Nothing more than a couple of minor wobbles/hesitations which I'm not sure I could have avoided - mainly struggling to pick out the best paths around 6-7-8, plus getting (justifiably) nervous in the tiny paths around #26.
Looking at the splits, I didn't make a super-fast start but had climbed into 3rd by #4. Suggests I got the balance right by avoiding time loss.
If I can keep that attitude for 8 runs in Scotland I'll be happy...
