Terrain running 1:15:00 [2]
shoes: Asics Trabuco

Slow run around Leigh Woods. HRM works there!

Saturday Apr 4, 2009 #

Road running 43:00 [3] 6.2 mi (6:56 / mi)
shoes: Asics 2140

Steady figure of 8 around the downs in shiny new shoes. Bright sunshine but a little chilly with the wind. Legs feel tight, probably from football yesterday.

S&C (fitball) 25:00 [1]

Core stability with fitball. Gait analysis guy at Moti said I have poor core stability and should work on it. No time like the present.

Orienteering (Cannop Ponds) 19:24 [3] *** 3.25 km (5:58 / km) +60m 5:28 / km
spiked:14/15c

Team Monday training in the Forest of Dean.

Second loop of three. Ran a bit more aggressively after doing the first loop like a muppet. Much nicer part of the forest.

Orienteering (Cannop Ponds) 45:00 [2] *** 5.0 km (9:00 / km)
spiked:7/13c

First of three loops plus a few controls of the third loop with Em. Didn't time the first loop - which is for the best. Had a string of three really sloppy controls which made me cross. Very lazy navigating - just went to the circle and hoped the rest would sort itself out, which might be fine sometimes but not when looking for one of 9 pits in the control circle in a patch of green forest...

S&C (fitball) 25:00 [1]

Bit of a token effort tbh.

Tuesday Mar 31, 2009 #

Road running 30:00 [1]

Very easy recovery jog on the downs. Felt the efforts of the last couple of days in my legs-not gonna be easy running 4 days in a row in jk. Will hopefully be fresher by then, no more hard runs in the next week or so.

Wanted to use my hrm to keep effort in check but either it is broken or my heart rate routinely reaches 240 during light jogging and stretching and I'm at death's door.

Monday Mar 30, 2009 #

Terrain running 1:21:00 [4] 10.8 mi (7:30 / mi)

Steady run around Blaise with Team Monday, including a few quick efforts up the hills. First one at a fair clip courtesy of Matt F.

Was feeling a bit of a cold during the day but felt better as the run went on. Have always avoided all training when ill, but definitely in favour of running through a minor cold after testing it out the last couple of times I've felt dodgy.
