11x 150m hard off generous recoveries (45-60 secs)
Ran it in two sets: 6x 26 secs on grass, 2-3 mins jog then 5x 28-29 secs on sand
Good fun. I basically never run this fast so hoping it will help me out for the mile. Didn’t feel as though I was losing my form but there will be harder sessions to come...

Resort gym is really q nice, airy and light, and I just fancied this a bit more than a humid beach run in the midday heat.

Ellenbrook Fields
Proper soggy windy day so most of the first 4k I knew would be a slog with the buggy
So tried to make it a bit mile relevant by going steady until the last straight paved 800m along the old runway. Then went really hard. Something like a 2:40-45 which for me with a buggy is pretty solid. Just trying to get used to a different level of effort entirely than a 5k-marathon.
Fun, will definitely do that again especially as Ellenbrook lends itself so well.

Bushy Park 10k - 1st
Not sure I have ever won a running race before so that’s nice. Gun to tape as well.
Bit of a spontaneous entry when the weather was better with me and sister sal both hoping we could get pbs. On the day though it was wet and windy and sloppy underfoot. So not quite as quick as I’d hoped although bushy is truly flat.
Decided I would go out as hard as I dared and hope to hang on for 36:xx. Unfortunately ended up 5 seconds over and one second over my best. Ah well. The thing that did for me was the main grass track for km 1 and 5. First tome round it was firm and I enjoyed the tailwind, but second time it was a bit churned up. Don’t think I could have got any quicker on the day as I was right up in the 180s hr all the way and didn’t let the intensity drop.
One guy went with me and stayed tucked in behind the whole way until I went eyeballs out for the last 600m and got a 10 second gap.
Splits: 3:31, 39, 39, 45, 45, 46, 46, 49, 47, 37

Did 18:15 for the parkrun course as well which on a quicker day suggests I could improve my 5k time (17:46?).
