Imperial College park race
Not up to the challenge of this one, which was really well planned and gave everyone plenty to think about. I was far too focused on chasing people down and generally just ran off on the first route I could see.
The really annoying thing is, this was a great and rare chance to practice sprints outside jk/British and it was a waste of a good course just to charge round thoughtlessly.

London to Brighton night ride
This turned out not to he as hard as I thought it might. Once I got the blood pumping it was easy enough to keep going through the night and 60 miles isn't too epic a distance.

Hardest part might have been waiting to get over the start line, 4,500 people going 20 at a time does take a while. Sohaving rocked up at half 11 it was well after 1 before I was off.

Getting out of London was a pain, plenty of traffic still and the route wad crowded. But he first hill to coulsdon sorted it all out and from then on the roads were nice and clear.

I knew from spinning over from home to Clapham that I was feeling good so just got in a nice steady rhythm and enjoyed it. Was pleasantly surprised to be overtaking large numbers throughout including plenty of much fancier bikes than mine! Some of the descents were a bit dicey in the dark, especially with a mix of abilities and chumps stopping in unhelpful places.

Devil's dyke was supposed to be the sting in the tail. Got to the top and thought that's not too bad really. Then cruised into view of the second part. Got to the top of that and thought it felt a bit more like a sting. Then saw the much steeper third section of the climb with cyclists strung out walking. That was tough but I didn't join the walkers club.

Don't know the exact time but deffo under 4. Quickest did 2:40ish which seems pretty fast. Definitely feel like I could tackle a bigger challenge in the near future, especially if it took place in the daytime!

Primrose Hill park run
Pretty sloppy. Wanted to cruise physically, but also cruised mentally and went badly wrong at #3 and #4 especially.
What a nice evening and race though.

One entry to the London-Brighton night ride this weekend (Sat 26/Sun 27). I am still doing it but my domestique has bailed. Return transport included. Would suit person with own bike and strange idea of what constitutes a fun Saturday night.

Bushy Park trail challenge
I would love to say this was a 'tempo' pace run with room to go quicker but that wouldn't really be true, I was trying pretty hard. But I finished strongly and took a couple of places so that's good.

Cycling 3:12:00 [2] 71.0 km (22.2 kph)

Nice ride out in the Kent and Surrey countryside. A loop around Bletchingly and Caterham.
Intended to keep it fairly easy all the way, but made the same mistake as last time of heading up 'the Enterdent'. Far too steep and gritty for an 'easy' ride! Struggled a bit from then on to be honest.

The Norman park course is a bit grassy and twisty, but flat. There was a Beckenham vs petts wood smackdown. No results yet but they seemed to dominate the top few.
I was way too hungover really but hung on grimly.

Longish warm up then 3x10 mins at (and towards the end, just above) threshold. Then cruised at a slower pace for the last few km but still close to threshold thanks to tired legs.

Note

While I was at home I weighed myself on parents' scales. A little surprised to find I am a good stone heavier than when I ran Abingdon (65kg --> 72kg). That is rather a lot.

Strangely I found it a morale boost, as it is a good explanation for why I've felt heavy and sluggish lately.

BOC relay
Really enjoyed this. Managed to make up 30 secs to Sarah Rollins over the first few, then had a bit of company to #12. On the way to #13 I lost contact. Could have gambled on having the same gaffle as Sarah but decided that was foolish and slowed down instead. Then wasn't confident in my compass to #15 (it has a growing bubble and is unstable) so went right to be safe.
Good run for me with no real mistakes. And very consistent from Team SLOW for 11th place.
