Orienteering (Blouberg) 1:00:00 [3] *** 8.0 km (7:30 / km)
shoes: Inov-8 X-Talon 212

Didn't feel very interested or into it after Sat. Arches still very sore and ankles also giving problems. On top, had a large thorn inside shoe going straight through small toe on left side, still haven't gotten it all out. Was like running in the sahara (hot, dry) and after an hour decided to cut losses and not risk further injury or irritation so went to finish.

Small request, please organisers put North lines on the map. Although still very happy with the org, map etc so just a kind request if possible. In dunes have learnt that compass is my best tool with changing contours. Only prob is without the lines there is a big chance of 90 deg errors if map is turned and using edge of map. (I see in this case the map fragment was small so the lines were prob just outside of the area and one small frag is present but in the sea).

Trail Run (Delheim) 1:28:00 [3] **** 13.96 km (6:18 / km)
shoes: Adidas Terrex Fast R

Numb feet from 3km to almost end. Stopped twice to release laces a bit but didn't help (had tightened them more than usual at start due to mud). Numb feet made life very diff on tech single track. Poor fitness and nothing in legs, walked large portions even from just after 3km, not good. Perhaps not recovered from Wed hills and overestimated fitness greatly. Started slow thinking to finish strong but jsut went backwards. In hindsight was prob in top 10-15 up to 3km even though felt was going slow. Shoul dhave been able to keep that. Very sore arches on both feet in addition to numb feet?! And ankle problems too but pob because of misplacing numb feet...

nice area and lots of singel track. Even though the running wasnt going well, decided to just look around and enjoy it.
