Bendigo 2Day - Mass Start Hagaby - 1st

Much better today, though not sure why! The first forked loops I went around loosely with Pat and was fairly clean. We came out of these 40s up on the other group of Will, Aston, Kez and Brodie. Then made some more time on the long leg and ran the rest solo, going well and pretty clean.

As often happens with head-to-head stuff, my focus was really good in the second half because I knew people probably weren't far behind. Felt more focused and in the moment than I usually manage individually.

Encouraging.

Running (Road) 12:10 [1] 2.23 km (5:27 / km) +17m 5:15 / km

Swimming 15:00 [2]

Didn't take long for me to inhale a decent amount of water and decide that swimming can suck a fat one.

Bendigo 2Day Sprint

Didn't quite have it today, just down on all the splits a bit. Scale was weird and big shoes for my arch but probably just not quite aggressive enough.

Got out for the session today instead. Wore my big shoes to protect my foot a bit more. I was happy with how it went - I only started to get a little bit of feeling in the arch during the final 3 reps. Called it a day slightly earlier than planned but, although this week has been pretty shite, I'm glad to have got a bit of valuable work done in the end.

Another test run. Threw in a minute at hard interval pace to test the foot, which was good. But started to get some sensitivity in it again in the last 5mins of the run.

Wanted to do intervals this evening and found it hard to make the call, but the foot wasn't feeling quite as good as I wanted to went the cautious way.

Back on the mountain bike instead. Past the Keys then followed the Koonung trail out as far as Springvale Road and back. A nice route and set an honest pace most of the way.

Big cycle around Melbourne.

Down the Yarra into town, around the MCG, Tennis centre, botanic gardens, Albert Park (halfway setting up the F1 barriers already), St Kilda and along the beach, past the docklands, up the Maribyrnong and hope past the zoo.

Good fun and got through many podcasts.

More singletracks with Will.

New development: started feeling some tightness edging towards pain in the tendons under my R foot (another foot switch from the previous one). Under the arch and heading back a bit towards the heel. The tendons linking to the big toe I think. Only came in in the last 15-20mins.

Rode down the Yarra with Aston + Will to watch Warren and Tash play hockey.
