Running (Road) 11:34 [2] 2.3 km (5:02 / km) +33m 4:42 / km
shoes: Nike Pegasus 32 (L Green)

Orienteering (Sprint) 10:24 [4] 2.44 km (4:16 / km) +36m 3:58 / km
shoes: Nike Pegasus 32 (L Green)

Sprint-O at Roma Street Gardens in Brisbane. A really good area, and quite pleased with my orienteering today.

Also pleased with how good my calf handled this.

Orienteering (Sprint) 18:35 [4] 4.36 km (4:16 / km) +68m 3:57 / km
shoes: Nike Pegasus 32 (L Green)

Orienteering (Sprint) 10:37 [4] 2.61 km (4:04 / km) +41m 3:46 / km
shoes: Nike Pegasus 32 (L Green)

Running (Road) 40:26 [2] 8.44 km (4:47 / km) +97m 4:32 / km
shoes: Nike Pegasus 32 (L Green)

Ran with Will along South Bank and through the Botanical Gardens to get to Kangaroo Point for a barbie with Krystal and Mikkel.

Brisbane is really lovely in the evening warmth, with fairy lights covering some of the crazy tropical trees in a nice way. I think it's the nicest city centre I've visited in Australia.

Note
(rest day)

Spent the day on a boat trip out to Lady Musgrave Island on the Great Barrier Reef.

A lot of time spent staving off seasickness in very rough seas, but a fantastic day out. Snorkelling up close with sea turtles is something I won't forget.

No harm to take things gently with my calf rehab too.

Friday Feb 2 #

10 AM

Running (Terrain/Soft) 1:37:29 [2] 19.16 km (5:05 / km) +509m 4:29 / km
shoes: Asics Cumulus 19 (Black)

Cool run around Noosa Heads national park in the rain. Some wicked rocky coastline, beaches and very varied forest/bushland terrain.

Really pleased with calf being all good today.

Thursday Feb 1 #

4 PM

Running 1:11:35 [1] 10.21 km (7:01 / km) +963m 4:46 / km
shoes: Asics Cumulus 19 (Black)

Ran through some proper rainforest, saw a brilliant waterfall and swam in a pond with Will and Krystal. A wet day but a cracking one.

Calf grand. Couldn't feel anything at all during the run or on the first steps of the day in the morning (which is the main sign apparently).

Wednesday Jan 31 #

9 AM

Running (Road) 36:56 [2] 8.09 km (4:34 / km) +111m 4:16 / km
(injured) shoes: Nike Pegasus 32 (L Green)

Faster run around the roads in Hervey Bay. Calf was fine with this, but it was very hot and humid so I suffered.

Tuesday Jan 30 #

9 AM

Running 50:04 [2] 10.49 km (4:46 / km) +61m 4:38 / km
shoes: Asics Cumulus 19 (Black)

Basically the same as yesterday. Very similar feelings.

Reaction this morning for the first steps was similar too, possibly a little better than yesterday. Not painful but not comfortable either.

Plan is to keep loading it a bit to aid recovery but not do anything silly.
12 PM

Note

Flew up to Brisbane for a week of touristing and camping.

Monday Jan 29 #

9 AM

Running 39:44 [2] 8.51 km (4:40 / km) +51m 4:32 / km
shoes: Asics Cumulus 19 (Black)

Easy from the Agars along Mt Ainslie to the war memorial. Feeling in my tendon every step but not painful.
