Running 31:18 [1] 5.93 km (5:17 / km) +6m 5:15 / km
(sick)

Orienteering 33:12 [4] 7.1 km (4:41 / km) +19m 4:37 / km

Scottish Relays - 3rd leg for NOC with Ant and Andy. Not a particularly inspired run, I was struggling to focus properly and probably should have pushed a bit harder. Went out in 4th in space - caught sight of Tam as I came past the spectator and pushed harder but there wasn't enough course left. Fun day out all the same.

I always struggle on dodgy scale maps, don't like the way symbols look on 1:7500 at all. I don't really understand why it's ever used to be honest - that's what magnifiers are for.

Running (Terrain/Soft) 30:53 [2] 6.69 km (4:37 / km) +39m 4:29 / km
shoes: Nike Pegasus 32 (L Black)

Getting in the warm down I didn't have time for at the event.

Running (VO2 Intervals) 9:16 [5] 2.36 km (3:56 / km) +2m 3:55 / km
(sick) shoes: Asics DS Trainer 18 #4 Yellow

Came to the track to do a VO2 session, but aborted after two 1km reps. Feeling terrible in an ill sort-of way so decided to be sensible and focus on the main goal of being better for the World Cup on Wednesday.

Conveniently I was delivering some exams right next door to the performance gym this morning.

Running (Threshold) 26:43 [4] 7.0 km (3:49 / km) +6m 3:48 / km
shoes: Asics DS Trainer 18 #4 Yellow

Since I have KJ's plague I thought I'd try his recovery technique too and do a track session anyway. Not a very hard one, but I don't want to miss any more sessions in this scrappy month of racing and tapering.

5x (1km T, 200m R), 45s rest after everything.

Aimed for 3.12s but as usual it was impossible to go slow enough on the first lap (though at least I traded 69s for 72s). Generally feeling pretty easy, and not too much coughing or gunk. Humid and still tonight.

Pleased to feel relatively normal after only 4 days

Slept well, and getting through the symptoms pretty nicely. Blocked up today but feeling less rubbish in the head.

Note
(sick)

Sore behind the nose yesterday, down to the throat today.

Note
(sick)

Back from Estonia test races last night, and woke up with a cold. Not the best as I was hoping to get back on some intervals this week, but to be fair I haven't been ill in a long time (for me) and this week is pretty much the perfect window between big races so good scheduling from my body.
