indoor trainer 15:00 [3]

Approx time on bike - not too comfortable as seat still too high.
Funnily enough i saw a show on TV where a clairvoient in Britain predicted a close Australian election victory to the coalition ...using her method of throwing asparagus on the ground and reading the lay-out...just like tea leaves.

pool exercise 1:30:00 [3]

ARC session - this time my entertainment was watching a life saving class.
Few people, so quite enjoyable.
Incl 800m swimming.

Meant to do a walk / more cycling later but time got away from me.
I had signed up for the Fed election vote counting in Sturt, in the biggest booth in SA. They put 8 people on the enrolement desks this time (5 last time) and we had the head honcho of the SA AEC there for most of the counting. But with 300 more voters than last year having pre-voted; the Senate paper being smaller; and more of the possible informal votes being left for tomorrow's scrutiny we were finished by 11pm, which was better than 12.30am last year.
It took us 45 mins just to unroll & flatten all the Senate votes.
Libs had 2 young lads scrutineering & Greens had an older guy that didnt seem to know what was going on. Labour had none.

half walk, half shuffle 1:00:00 [3]

Walks with MC after lunch around Stirling town & then parked near Arbury Park to show her the fairy garden.
Went S & N to tunnels under freeway & train line.
Longest walk by a long time though still limping.
Had been to physio earlier & rode exercise bike at almost the right height.
Did some at home too but still high seat as knee swollen after walk.

pool exercise 1:05:00 [3]

ARC session in morning as friend visiting later.

Session somewhat enlivened by the fact that i had to rescue a middle aged overweight non swimmer from drowning.
There were only 4 of us in the 8 lane 25m pool which is 1.2 at shallow end & 1.8m at deep end.
The guy i rescued had been hanging onto the lane rope with 2 noodles around him. By grabbing the lane rope, which moves, he lost control of the noodles which floated away so he was left yelling for help as the lane rope didnt support him. I was about 10m away running in the water ...didnt initially know what he was yelling about but swam his way.
Told him to grab a noodle which i gave him and hauled him backwards towards the shallow end, swimming initially.
Meanwhile i caught sight of the female life guard for the pool, who had been chatting to another lifeguard looking after the leisure pool, at the corner of both. On seeing the situation she took off her shoes and socks (not protocol for a rescue in my opinion) but I had got the guy back to shallow water by the time she had de-shoed.
Guy was very thankful - only his 2nd time in the pool - non swimmer and no idea what he should do...

Note

Got my first rotation on the bike today - yeh!
With seat very high & some sideways movement of the hip but i got there....did it several times in morning but not too comfortable. Will try again later

pool exercise 1:20:00 [3]

Hospital to ARC for water exercise in late afternoon

half walk, half shuffle 50:00 [3] 2.0 km (25:00 / km)

From pool to Jane Goodall talk at Convention centre.
Was gd - she is an energetic 85 yr old and has achieved a lot.
I think some of her "roots & shoots" offshoots might be a bit over the top in their anti-meat stance.
Had difficutly finding a park so had a 25 min walk each way, which kept me warm. R foot hurt on return. Longest walk since op - used walking stick.
