Note

An hour of wrangling on the trail that goes downhill to the NW off the hospital trail, named by Zack the "useless hill", because he always begs off from any walk that involves going down and then coming right back up again
9 AM

Hike 35:04 intensity: (7 @0) + (34:57 @1) 1.3 mi (26:59 / mi) +40m 24:37 / mi

ahr:117 max:215 shoes: 2019 Blue Gel Kayanos

Over at the lake with Rhonda, but this one didn’t go so well. Hamstring was tender and tired, couldn’t wait to get back to the car.

ahr:101 max:140 slept:7.0 weight:167.2lbs shoes: 2019 Blue Gel Kayanos

Clever AP algorithm thought I was snowshoeing, presumably based on the time. What we were doing was walking the trail with hand clippers, doing trail maintenance on branches that have invaded the walking space.

Dog loop with Rhonda. This went better than I might have anticipated, and certainly better than if I had tried it yesterday. A ways to go, but some improvement in the hamstring.

Rowing Machine 8:59 [3]

Quite a bit better than yesterday, again at the edge of discomfort, but making progress.

With a few modifications in deference to the hammy. I've also been doing some gentle walking, one hospital loop at a time.

Rowing Machine 9:37 [3] 2.0 km (4:49 / km)
shoes: 2011 Merrell Trail Glove

At the edge of discomfort. Not capable of going any faster at this point, and maybe a little slower would be better. No reason to push.

Note

Haven't been writing this down, but I've been out laurel wrangling for an hour or so every day this week. One day's worth doesn't make much of a dent, but four or five days in a row in the same place makes a noticeable change. At some point Zack will get interested enough to drag the chipper down where I have been working and disappear the pile. Much nicer laurel wrangling when I don't have to find a permanent spot to pile all the debris.
