I've been holding this off for a while to try to get my R forearm to calm down from when I strained it in October. Finally seems to be turning the corner. However, the long layoff really shows. This was pretty darned hard. Breathing about as hard as if I had gone about 40 seconds faster, say a year ago. Also, this was a bit strenuous on my perennially weak L forearm, so I won't be doing any longer pieces for a while.

Took Sassy out through the yard, down to the clear cut and back up via the main trail. I wore microspikes which were excellent this early. Almost on top, very little punch through. Enough texture to the crust that Sassy did fine.

Shoveled the path to the house and out to the hot tub. About an inch+ of really crusty stuff, but not all that hard to get up. Just took patience. Meanwhile Zack plowed the driveway. I wasn't sure how well it would come up but it was excellent.

With Rhonda and Sassy at the lake on snowshoes (me and Rhonda). Not all that satisfactory. By now things had softened up a bit, so punching through the crust and flipping slushy stuff up the backs of my legs. So we didn't get all that far.

Meandering excursion with Zack and Sassy, this time in boots, as the snow was soft by now and the day pretty warm. As is often the case on a walk with Zack we hopped off trail here and there to inspect different areas and plan some future laurel wrangling.

A little excursion around the hospital loop and down the main trail out to the bridge at the Big Down Marsh. Very pleasant. Good snow, nice weather, beautiful to look out at the marsh. Hope it holds up, but supposed to be some snow and ice tonight. We'll see. If it is ok, I'll go for a longer outing tomorrow.

With Rhonda. I seem to be about 90% recovered from whatever was bugging me the last several days. The heart rate is bogus. Usually if it is bogus it is reading too high. This time way too low.
