Rowing Machine 8:56 [3] 2.0 km (4:28 / km)
slept:6.0 weight:163.2lbs

I've been holding this off for a while to try to get my R forearm to calm down from when I strained it in October. Finally seems to be turning the corner. However, the long layoff really shows. This was pretty darned hard. Breathing about as hard as if I had gone about 40 seconds faster, say a year ago. Also, this was a bit strenuous on my perennially weak L forearm, so I won't be doing any longer pieces for a while.

Met up with Rhonda in PV on my way back from class in Torrington, and walked along the river. A good brisk pace.

Hike 15:00 [3] 1.0 km (15:00 / km)

Took Sassy out through the yard, down to the clear cut and back up via the main trail. I wore microspikes which were excellent this early. Almost on top, very little punch through. Enough texture to the crust that Sassy did fine.
7 AM

Note
slept:6.0 weight:163.8lbs

Shoveled the path to the house and out to the hot tub. About an inch+ of really crusty stuff, but not all that hard to get up. Just took patience. Meanwhile Zack plowed the driveway. I wasn't sure how well it would come up but it was excellent.
9 AM

Hike 39:09 intensity: (33 @0) + (16:42 @1) + (12:56 @2) + (7:10 @3) + (1:13 @4) + (35 @5) 1.48 mi (26:24 / mi) +120m 21:06 / mi
ahr:110 max:171

With Rhonda and Sassy at the lake on snowshoes (me and Rhonda). Not all that satisfactory. By now things had softened up a bit, so punching through the crust and flipping slushy stuff up the backs of my legs. So we didn't get all that far.
10 AM

Hike 30:00 [3] 1.75 km (17:09 / km)

Meandering excursion with Zack and Sassy, this time in boots, as the snow was soft by now and the day pretty warm. As is often the case on a walk with Zack we hopped off trail here and there to inspect different areas and plan some future laurel wrangling.
2 PM

Gym (Yoga) 20:00 [3]

4 PM

Hike 42:32 intensity: (3:36 @1) + (23:08 @2) + (15:45 @3) + (3 @4) 2.47 mi (17:12 / mi) +173m 14:08 / mi
ahr:124 max:147

5 PM

Gym 5:00 [3]

3x10 pushups, because Matthew did them. Also did 3 pullups earlier. Zack moved the rings to the beech tree, so maybe I will start using them more often

Ski 30:00 [3]
slept:6.25 weight:163.4lbs

A little excursion around the hospital loop and down the main trail out to the bridge at the Big Down Marsh. Very pleasant. Good snow, nice weather, beautiful to look out at the marsh. Hope it holds up, but supposed to be some snow and ice tonight. We'll see. If it is ok, I'll go for a longer outing tomorrow.
12 PM

Hike 39:34 intensity: (1:53 @1) + (36:52 @2) + (48 @3) + (1 @4) 2.49 mi (15:53 / mi) +170m 13:07 / mi
ahr:122 max:147

With Rhonda, a sparky pace. Getting colder and damper feeling than it was two hours ago.

With Rhonda around the neighborhood after a longish day in and returning from NYC.
8 PM

All the exercises, including one new one recommended by Zack. First time doing some of the inverted ones and it was fine.

ahr:72 max:104 slept:6.25 weight:163.6lbs shoes: 2017 Gray Gel Kayanos

With Rhonda. I seem to be about 90% recovered from whatever was bugging me the last several days. The heart rate is bogus. Usually if it is bogus it is reading too high. This time way too low.
4 PM

Gym (Yoga) 18:00 [3]

Pretty much all of my program. Couldn't do the ones where my head was down until today.
