With R&S, from the backyard down the eagle scout trail through the town's open space property. Includes a lengthy stop (10 min or so) to visit with our neighbor Alis, whom we haven't seen in some time, and who was equipped with 2 dogs, good company for Sassy.

slept:7.0 weight:161.6lbs

Posted the maps from the weekend, Day 1 and Day 2. Relocation was never a strong suit for me.
6 PM

Gym 1:00:00 [1]

The usual exercises. The bridge series is really great. The squats maybe a bit too much, and I am likely to cut down on them some. Otherwise very good. I am doing squats, one-leg balancing and planks on the BOSU, which is pretty favorable.

Up Sandy Brook rd and back with Rhonda. This is certainly much easier than anything we did in Sicily, and goes a lot faster.

Note

Spent the night at Compass Point, the very lovely lake house of Bundschuhs and Ruutupolds. Great company, lulled to sleep by rushing water, beautiful on awakening and walking around. What a treat!

Orienteering race 1:33:45 intensity: (6 @0) + (22:07 @1) + (50:49 @2) + (19:06 @3) + (1:37 @4) 5.62 km (16:41 / km) +124m 15:02 / km
ahr:118 max:153 spiked:8/12c slept:9.25 shoes: 2014 icebugs

Nominal course length was 3.4, and I did a lot more. When I was good I was very good, but when I wasn't . . . Worst were #2, where I didn't seem to have any luck trying to relocate, and was only vaguely hopeful when I finally found it. There were a lot of people hanging around, including running into Tony F my first pass, and then again near when I found it, and #8. I bailed out 4 times to various features and walked in ever more slowly, kept coming back to the same area. By the last time I couldn't imagine I wasn't in the right place, but couldn't find anything until somebody came in and punched. After punching I pulled down a big dead pine branch that was hanging over the control.

Otherwise, some minor losses on 6, where I was confused by the little marshes on the way in and wandered off line, and 9, where I stopped short and milled around for a while. Otherwise pretty fine. Drifted right on 3 and had to climb the hill, so lost some time there even though I knew right where I was. Really happy with 4, 5, 10, 11, and seemed to have the fastest split on 12.

Map and route.

Afterwards really stiff and sore, especially after the drive home.
