Note

Visiting our proposed new puppy.
From puppies
The pups are 6 weeks now, and this was to get acquainted and pick one out. We will get her in two weeks.

We brought our neighbor Belle along. She is Hazel's companion in the summer and a great dog lover. Here she is with our two top candidates, although all nine of the little skaters were just fine.

Note

Attended the very fine NEOC winter party at Saegers'. Thanks very much, Jeff and Judy.

Hike 23:00 [3] 1.75 mi (13:09 / mi)

On the treadmill in the morning while Jan was leading a sprightly spinning group. Walking at 4.7, incline 4 for 16 minutes, then incline 6 for 4, then some gradual slowing down.

cycling 30:00 [3] 6.7 mi (4:29 / mi)
weight:166.5lbs

spinning bike with Jan, Betsy and Rhonda. Pleasant visit. Longer than I have been riding it any time lately, and felt it the last 10 minutes.

Gym 6:00 [3]

Just a couple of exercises after the bike: 30 GHD situps and 50 medicine ball squats.

Snowshoe 1:00:00 [2]

With Rhonda and Hazel. Stopped by the southern clearcut, where my forester, Jim Gillespie, was putting up a deer fence.

Park course at WCOC meet at Stratton Brook

Orienteering race 29:47 [3] *** 2.3 km (12:57 / km)
spiked:8/10c shoes: integrator-spikes

Woods course. Hard work in the snow. One significant mental lapse which got me running in circles for a bit, otherwise ok. Sore foot later from snow running.
