spiked:19/23c weight:164lbs shoes: Yellow NB T840

Blue Hills Traverse. Alone after #6, although I had a glimpse or two of PG between 9 and 10, and traded leads toward the end with a Russian fellow, although we never actually ran together.

Long day in the car, as we took Zack up to his friend's house in Norwell and picked him up there after. Total car hours: 6:30.

Running 52:06 [3] 5.0 mi (10:25 / mi)
(sick)

McLean Game Refuge, with Rhonda. Turning the corner on my cold. Still hacking away periodically, but much livelier than I was two days ago.

Had a recurrence of a weird perceptual problem I have had once in a while, maybe a dozen times in the last 15 or so years. It occurs when I am running, I think most often in cold weather, and after I have been running for about ten or fifteen minutes. I see pinwheel type fluttering lights (with both eyes), gradually diminishing over another five to ten minutes. It happened once last year, in exactly the same place, running up the hill from the Spring Pond at McLean. The first couple of times it happened, it was also at the same place, running up Indian Hill Rd in West Tisbury, 15 or so years ago. Very weird. Anyway, after a while it calmed down and went away.

Running 57:00 [3] 5.0 mi (11:24 / mi)
weight:163lbs (sick)

trail run at McLean with Rhonda, usual route. Not feeling at all spunky. Was up last night from 2 to 4 with a coughing jag.

cycling 52:40 [3] 7.25 mi (7:16 / mi)
weight:162.5lbs (sick)

dropped the pickup truck off in town for some repairs and rode the mountain bike home. Very cold, maybe 20 degrees, and of course uphill all the way. Mt bike seems to need some repairs of its own. Shifters not working very well, and rear wheel needs to be tightened up at the cones.
