Kayak 1:30:00 [3]

Paddling in Cache Lake with Rhonda, including trip to Tanamakoon Lake.

cycling (Mountain Bike) 2:30:00 [3] 32.0 km (4:41 / km)

Minnesing Trail near Canisbay Lake in Algonquin with Rhonda, which was way too technical and muddy, and then switched over to Old Rail Trail near Lake of Two Rivers. Saw a fine young bull moose munching leaves and shoots near the side of the trail. Nursing a sore hip.

Hike 1:30:00 [1] 6.0 km (15:00 / km)

Lookout and Hemlock trails in Algonquin with Rhonda, including stopping to read the guidebooks along the way.

Killer paddle with Rhonda in Cache and Tanamakoon lakes, including a sidetrip to walk along the portage to Source Lake and back. She is relentless!

Hike 2:15:00 [1] 10.0 km (13:30 / km)

Beaver Pond, Bog and Big Pine trails in Algonquin, with Rhonda, taking time to read the guidebooks.

Kayak 1:00:00 [3]

Late afternoon paddle in Cache Lake with Rhonda after dropping Zack off at Pathfinder. Came across a gaggle of young skogsnymphs bathing au naturel. Rhonda enforced eyes forward, however, so a limited amount to report. Appeared to be about 8 or so of them. From a difference I marveled at how they all had similar light colored swim suits, only to have the truth become evident as I got closer. Seems to be a girls' camp there.

Note
(injured)

Back, hip and thigh all in some degree of spasm after yesterday's ride. This is the injury that laid me low for several years, beginning in about '96. Must endeavor to let it heal. Meanwhile, could not resist irritating it by playing 9 holes with the neighbors this afternoon. Back guarding makes short pitches an adventure. Blew two easy pars by skulling pitches over the greens.

cycling 1:43:00 [3] 26.5 mi (3:53 / mi)
slept:4.5 weight:165.5lbs

From W Simsbury up through Granby, Hungary Rd to Quarry to Copper Hill past Newgate prison, winding back through Granby and W Simsbury again. A catch in the back out by Newgate prison, then burning and cramping in ITB on the way back. Definitely limping home.

cycling 2:03:00 [3] 35.3 mi (3:29 / mi)
weight:168lbs

Pleasant ride from home out through Riverton and up Sandy Brook Rd to 183, then S through Colebrook to Winsted, back on 44 to Saybrook Fish House, where I met Rhonda and Zack for dinner. A little longer than I expected, but basically went pretty well. Foot sore toward the end. Ice tonight!

weights 25:00 [3]

Some bench presses, curls, pull-downs and sit-ups, out in the gym with Charles & Raakel

Note

9 holes with Tom, Stew, and Stew's ringer brother-in-law Marty. Driving pretty well, but hit in way too many sand traps.
