Rowing Machine 21:48 [2] 5.0 km (4:22 / km)
weight:167lbs

Nice and easy. Hadn't been on it in a while, and didn't want to push. Back felt good. R knee sore - as usual with rowing machine. Bothered my right foot, too, where it's strained at the base of the big toe.

Gym 1:00:00 [2]

Rhonda's "easy" class. Hard enough. A little yoga goes a long way to improving my flexibility.

Orienteering (course setting) 1:58:00 [2] 5.0 km (23:36 / km)

At Mashamoquet. Parked at Wolf Den and checked all the advanced controls south of the road. Pretty fine running. Had to spend some time figuring out where things were in the laurel at one spot, but otherwise very clean. Very nice spot for orienteering. Coldish - about 20 and very windy. Not bad in the woods, though. Rhonda was out hiking, and the goal was to get back in 2 hours. Just made it, and hit all the points I had intended.

Gym 30:00 [2]

Yoga tape with Rhonda. Too many places hurt to do these. Can't even do downward facing dog very well right now because of a strained wrist.

Hike 30:00 [1] 1.5 mi (20:00 / mi)

Rhonda's idea of fun. Bundle up and down to the beaver pond around 8 pm. Seriously dark, at least until we got down there. Then lie on our backs on the bridge and look at stars. Pretty fine stargazing spot, except Hazel kept trying to lick my face.

Note

About 2 hrs or so of chainsaw and tractor work down near the bridge, punching the trail through on the far side of the bridge. I thought I could move rocks around and fill in some holes with crushed rock, but stuff was too frozen. On the other hand, it was good conditions for cutting mountain laurel and stacking it up. Not much growth, and easy enough to drive on the stack to squoosh it. I am so not used to this stuff. Chainsawing left me sore in back and arms, manipulating the backhoe in the cold left me with a stiff neck. Hot tub!

Gym 40:00 [2]

Did a Shiva Ray tape with Rhonda. These were pretty easy a year ago, but daunting in my current nasty condition.

Running 30:17 [3] 3.2 mi (9:28 / mi)
weight:167lbs

Around Providence this am. Remarkably lethargic. Still the funny pain in the back - seems to relate more to breathing than back strain.

Running 47:38 [3] 5.4 mi (8:49 / mi)
slept:7.0 weight:165.5lbs

Morning run around Providence. Strange pain in left lower back slowed me down. Waited until around 6:15 to go out. Nice to be out in daylight.

cycling (stationary bike) 30:00 [2]

Reading the NYT after work and before dinner. A compromise with Tony. Got him to ride the bike next to me by agreeing to go to dinner with him. Better to skip. The weight is piling on while the G is plummeting. Latest value 1.234 G.
