Gym 55:00 [2]

Rhonda's morning group. She's up to 6 women in the class now. Pretty amazing.

cycling 1:49:42 [3]

Pleasant Valley up Sandy Brook and across 183, left to Colebrook Store and back. A few sprinkles, but basically fine. When I got home I saw that it had rained pretty hard at home. Lucky break!

Got home late, so just did the ratlum chase route before dark. Got caught looking for flags instead of features a couple of time, leading to little mistakes, since the flags were taken down a week ago!

Fox Forest Blue Course, rainy, slippery, rocky. Couldn't run much for tripping and falling. Mostly walked.

Running 46:30 [3] 5.7 mi (8:09 / mi)

Pleasant Valley. I seem to be getting slower each time I run this. I was in the 42s in January or February. OK, I checked. It was 42:15 and it was April 25.

Orienteering 12:00 [5] 1.5 km (8:00 / km) +100m 6:00 / km
shoes: integrators

Prologue course from Sunday, fast as I can. Marvelous to see how much faster people were and still had time to read the map. I was breathing like a draft horse at the top.

Gym 45:00 [2]

Rhonda's morning class. She is really whipping those women into shape.

Orienteering 16:00 [5] 1.7 km (9:25 / km) +85m 7:32 / km

Final test of the chase at Ratlum. Much faster when I don't need to carry a map.

Hike 1:00:00 [1] 5.0 mi (12:00 / mi)

run/walk with Rhonda at the river in Pleasant Valley. Like the dog who plays checkers, the fact that she's not that good at it yet pales beside the wonder she can do it at all. She continues to be on the mend. Will she be ready for Colorado? I'd say a resounding yes!

Thursday Jun 9, 2005 #

Orienteering 13:45 [4] 1.5 km (9:10 / km) +100m 6:53 / km

Prologue Test, unencumbered by map, compass or glasses. Works much better that way!

Orienteering 22:38 [4] 1.7 km (13:19 / km) +85m 10:39 / km

Chase Test, including about a minute or so to re-hang a control in a friendlier spot.

Orienteering 3:30:00 [1]

putting out controls for Gay City meet this weekend

Orienteering 24:39 [5] 2.9 km (8:30 / km)

Test drive of Gay City Sprint course. Did it without glasses, so the map was of only marginal help, and without all the flags out. Anyway, I made a couple mistakes. Navigation is a little tougher than Del Water Gap last weekend. I would expect a winning time of 17 or 18, depending on who shows up.
