Another truck draft from Dunreath lights! This could turn out to be a blessing because I never drafted from Leach Hwy before due to the bike path not being on the road. This truck just kept accelerating though, beyond what my 70kph legs and #12 cog were capable of.

Ride over to Bold Park Pool for Fletch's Thursday run, minus Fletch.

Running hills (Reabold west reps) 58:50 11.31 km (5:12 / km) +380m 4:27 / km
shoes: Teva X-1 Control

Thought I was going to be a lone runner today but whilst I was putting my shoes on, French Anne from last week wandered over and then another girl, Lisa I think, decided this was the group so hopped out of her car and joined us. Seems I didn't scare off all the girls after all!

Warm up was me running as fast as I could to try and lose the other two over to Reabold then hiding in the bushes until they turned up. Not really, but I wouldn't put it past me. Same session as last week except x5. I took an extra long break between sets to allow the other two to finish their threshold runs and offer words of advice, hopefully something along the lines of What Fletch Might Say. Tried to maintain consistency today rather than the all over the place job that was last week's effort. Worked well except for rep 2 of set 2, which was slow for some reason but may have been as a result of the bike heading down the hill towards me.

The first faster rep I left about ten seconds after a cyclist decided to ride up the hill. I passed him about 2/3 of the way up, haha.

Lisa and Anne seemed keen to return and both finished all ten reps despite Lisa having not done hill runs before so well done to them both.

Ride home afterwards, very pleasant. Almost the complete opposite of the other night though, whereby I got stopped at almost every set of lights except the intersection of Tonkin & Leach Hwy.

Almost took out a pedestrian too who couldn't make up his mind which way to go when I rang my bell - first went right to get out of my way then walked back left right across my path as I was about to come through.
