Bit of a drama filled morning. I had a flat before I started so went to change it and did my usual trick of pinch-flatting the replacement (new) tube. Goddamned tyres. Almost pinch-flatted the replacement (repaired) tube as well because I noticed the tube was jammed under the tyre lever whilst I was aggressively trying to wrench the stupid tyre in place. God only knows how you're supposed to get these things on properly.

Anyway when I eventually left I almost took out a truck driver on Hale when he stupidly walked out into the street from in front of his truck where no-one could see hime, then almost got taken out myself when I swerved to avoid him. Goddamned motorists.

The rain started at about 20 minutes into the ride, which is when I would have been at work if not for the flat. Goddamned rain.

Anyway I got a lucky break at the new lights at the Dunreath intersection when a truck accelerated very slowly away so I caught and hooked onto him. He was ambling along at an easy clip of about 45kph for a while then upped it to around 68kph so I was easily able to sit in behind all the way to my cycle exit.

I wouldn't be surprised if my tyre is flat again for the ride home so I'll be unhappy if it is. Might be time to reconstruct the MTB. 'Bout time someone invented a tubeless roadie tyre for all to access.

Core stability (rower) 15:00 [4] 3.84 km (3:55 / km)

I was almost out the door at work when I remembered I was going to do a rowing session tonight so performed my second U turn for the week.

Remembering my last attempt on the rower where my bum got sore real fast, this time I folded up my towel and put it on the seat. That kind of backfired with 1:30 to go when it fell off and got jammed under the seat, dislodging me in the process of my backpull, so it took a bit to get started again. Still beat the last effort though.

Enjoyable ride home. Managed a non-stop effort from the horseshoe bridge to Leach/Tonkin Hwy intersection via Orrong Rd. Just for a change all the lights through there were in my favour.
