Hiking 3:03:37 [2] 9.8 km (3.2 kph) +141m
shoes: Boreal Zanskar Boots

A cold front had moved through overnight so conditions were quite moody this morning. We were also low on water (the last stream we had found was at lunch the day before), so we skipped breakfast and pushed on to the end of the hike at Suikerbossie Guest Farm. More maze navigation but then an easy path down meant we were done just after 9am.

It was an incredible experience to traverse this entire range - I got to see many places I hadn't explored before and it was great to go back to my long-distance hiking roots :) 129km over 8 days in total.

Hiking (Cederberg Traverse Day 7) 5:41:36 [2] 14.8 km (2.6 kph) +676m
shoes: Boreal Zanskar Boots

This was probably my favourite day of the hike. No paths, but much easier terrain than my bundu-bashing experience earlier in the hike. We were pretty much walking through terraced fields the entire day, surrounded by rock buttresses and pinnacles in a very wild & remote part of the Cederberg. Navigation was fun as we would have to find our way from terrace to terrace through a tricky maze of passages and boulders - somehow there was always a sneaky way through though :) We made better progress than expected and slept in a cave at the Sandfontein Arch that night. What a place!
