Silvermine Dam to the top of Blackburn Ravine and back with the family. Great view and good leg-loosener.

Lekker race with an awesome vibe. Quite windy though.. My calf/ankle injury flared up at the 5km mark already - the pain came and went the entire run, sometomes causing a bit of a limp. So I'm happy with the time despite not getting a sub-5. Managed to run all the way to the marathon mark in 3:32 but then walked most of the 4km up Constantia Nek followed by a comfortable 10km run to the finish.

Lessons learned:
- Started too fast - was only 45s behind Jono at the 28km mark and he finished 35mins faster than me. Maybe aim for 5min/km all the way to the marathon mark next time.
- More 30km+ training runs required
- Need to force myself to eat after the 25-30km when I don't feel like it anymore
- Perhaps more hill sessions would help?
