Road Running race (Joe Stutzen Half Marathon) 1:44:05 [4] 21.1 km (4:56 / km) +225m 4:41 / km
shoes: Asics Gel Nimbus 13

I used to live in Illovo so knew most of the route really well from my previous training runs. I was planning on taking it quite easy and running about a 1h55m time, but that always seems to go out the window because of the kilometre-markers and my unwillingness to let people pass me ;-)

So the first lap was relatively easy but I pushed the pace a bit on the last few km to sneak in under 1h45m. The last km felt very short but the total distance was correct, so there must have been some long kms in there too.

Lovely morning run now that spring has most definitely sprung!

Splits (surprisingly consistent as it was quite an undulating course):

1km - 5:41 (weaving through crowds as usual)
2km - 4:56
3km - 4:59
5/6km - 9:59
7/8km - 10:07
9km - 5:01
10/11km - 9:45
12km - 5:50 (long I think)
13km - 4:50
14km - 5:00
15km - 4:58
16km - 4:58
17km - 4:52
18km - 4:43
19km - 5:04
20/21.1km - 9:27

309th place out of 1474 finishers.

Foot has felt better over the last 2 days so I thought I'd go for a run to try it out. Planned the usual 6km route but felt amazing in the first 2km so decided to run my 18km route instead...

A bit silly really and the body was quite tired and sore by the end of it. A good sore though, and the offending tendon did not make itself known. I'll notch it up as a decent session :)
