Early morning climb at Strubens. Put some more work into my 24 project - I think I have the sequence sussed out... now to link it all up and hold on until those chains are clipped! 16,19,18.

Climbing 1:15:00 [4] +40m

Evening session at Strubens. I've got myself an awesome new project to work - it's a pretty sustained 24 and may take a few sessions to figure out! 17, 17, 19, 19.

Road Running 21:49 [5] 5.0 km (4:22 / km) +40m 4:12 / km
ahr:180 max:200 shoes: Salomon XT Wings

Ran a TT of my 5km Melrose route but eased into it for the first 5 mins, keeping the HR below 170. Then opened the taps to see how fast I could go. Would be nice to get this down to 4 min/km..

Mountain Biking race (Capestorm Rogaine) 4:52:00 [4] 56.27 km (11.6 kph) +680m
ahr:152 max:180 shoes: Scott Yecora

I'm logging this as Mountain Biking as Kevin took care of the nav. I just held on as best I could since I hadn't been on the bike in 2 months... The weather was much better today and not too hot either. We headed off to the NW corner first and cleaned out the high-scoring controls there. It was fun dicing some of the other teams there with many different route choices used. From there, we continued in a clockwise direction and gunned it to the finish once we were on the Southern border of the property. Once again, a little conservative on our finishing strategy, with 8 minutes to spare. We finished in 5th place with 113 points. Really enjoyed the whole weekend!

Orienteering race (Capestorm Rogaine) 5:44:00 [3] *** 40.3 km (8:32 / km) +485m 8:03 / km
ahr:155 max:185 30c shoes: Salomon XT Wings

I was teamed up with Kevin for the weekend and the furthest we had both run in training was 16km. Much pain was in store for us :-) It poured the whole day which actually made the running conditions quite comfortable. We started with the SW loop and headed anti-clockwise around the perimeter, collecting all the high-scoring controls at a good jog. After 3 hours, we had covered 25km and collected 80 points but the wheels pretty much fell off at that point. We spent the remaining 3 hours walking/limping/jogging and tried to salvage as many points as possible on the way to the finish. It turned our that we were a little too conservative and finished with 16 minutes to spare on 112 points, 6th place of the open male teams.

A good session at the Wits bouldering wall - need to do more of this to get my endurance up.

Took a short, easy run through Melrose just to keep the legs ticking over for the Rogaine this weekend.

Climbing 45:00 [2] +50m

My mind wasn't really in it today - was getting scared off by anything that didn't suit my style. Still managed to salvage the day with some high quality (and fun) lines. 15, 16, 19.
