Note

Made the mistake of trying to buy flat pedals and a gel saddle from Dunkeld Cycles. After searching the entire store and workshop, the end result was a "Sorry sir - you're going to have to try a place like Linden Cycles for the more entry-level stuff." :)

Day 2 back to Aloe Kaya, via spiderweb-infested indigenous forest and plenty of rock mazes up on the plateau. Started getting a bit contrived towards the end when you could see the finish, but the path kept ducking and diving through yet another little outcrop/tunnel.

Fran, Inneke and I did the 2-day Oom Paul's hike at the Num Num Trails. Day 1 was from Aloe Kaya hut, along the escarpment, past an impressive waterfall (Uitkomst), down an indigenous forest gorge with loads of bridges and then a last climb up to the Bermanzi Stables hut.

Good to be back on the bike again after 6 months! Mostly road, but did one lap of the Emmies singletrack.

HR much lower than running due to all the recovery time on downhills. This cycling thing is easy man! ;)
