Bern By Night, Burisholz, short course, 14/59
nice, tricky course. Fog and the very small reflectors made it even more dufficult.

performance not so good, ranking far ahead of realistic expectations. Many faster people than me did much more mistakes than me. My own mistakes still sum up to a total of about 7' though.

It is always difficult to start not too fast at mass start races. But with my actual shape it was more important than usual and I managed to hold myself back.
Already at nr 1 I had the feeling to be with the last ones. Till nr 8 I had a technically very good race and I met people I had not expected to see again. I even saw the later 2nd and 3rd at this control.
To 9 I did a big mistake and run more or less alone for the 2nd half of the race.

Two more mistakes to 16 and 19 cost me the top ten.
