running warm up/down 10:00 [1] 1.5 km (6:40 / km)
shoes: VJ integrator old

orienteering race 1:10:00 [4] *** 7.0 km (10:00 / km) +200m 8:45 / km
ahr:170 max:183 spiked:13/20c shoes: VJ integrator old

5er Staffel (relay) Egg Platten. It was not my day at all.
no 3: Saw my third control but thought it was not yet mine, then going back, I thought to need number 37 (my thirteenth - third control on the 2nd coloumn of the control description), and not 73, searched a bit more and then noticed, that 73 was ok (2:30')
no 5: sprained my ankle running down the path to the control. Being a relay, I didn't want to stop the race, and decided to try going on (2'). My first thought: "oh no the Biennathlon next week"
no 6: Back on a road and moving my foot, running was ok again. Going through the woods still hurted. (1')
no 7-15 (spectator control): I had to be attentive where to place my foot, but it didn't hurt too much. But because my attention was more on the ground than on the map, I did some more mistakes (2')
no 16 and 18: I was tired, and so was my foot - hurting more again. I wanted to finish the race as fast as possible. Giving all my attention to where to place my steps, and feeling the controls would come without much attention to the map. This resulted in loosing about 8 more minutes on two controls! (8')
Even having an excuse, I'm ashamed how badly I did - in such a forest I would normally be satisfied only with less than 4 minutes mistake on the whole course. Even with limited attention, 16 minutes is far too much.
But I'm happy, that the injury isn't too bad, and I'm quite sure that I can participate at the Biennathlon...
