Running 30:00 [3] 4.1 mi (7:19 / mi)
shoes: Saucs I

Forced myself to take it easy today. I've got some sore spots in my legs got stretched afterwards. I was hoping to throw the frisbee in the park later with some of the guys, but that didn't happen.

Fantastic race. Not really sure what the event was, but it was hosted by OK Allerød. I ran the Åbne baner H21, which is open class M-21 for those who don't speak dansk. The map was very simple and very flat, which made for some very nice running. I lost of bit of time on 11 near the control, but I definitely had the best route through the marshes (which were very bad in that area). On my way to 16 (back through the marshes) I was trying to avoid getting wet because I saw the guy in front of me waste deep, and I didn't want that. Of course, that did end up happening when I tried to jump to one of those little spots that everyone tries to hop across. Anyway, there were some gross bits nearby so I tried to avoid those. The thing I landed on was definitely not solid and I sort of slipped backwards and went in up to my chest. I also discovered that the "gross" bits were just dirty ice, which I had broken through. Needless to say I was pretty cold, but I hauled my way out and just kept going and warmed right up soon afterwards. I didn't experience anything quite as eventfull as that, but I did lose some time on 23 and 24 because I never took the time to check my exit direction. I went right both times, but recovered quickly.

I'll have to wait until later to know for sure, but when I left the event site today, I was in first by 7 seconds, but there were only three people listed.

It was a fantastic run, all things considered. I loved being back out there and the woods were just so beautifully beautiful. I'll post pictures, or links to pictures whenever they upload.

Note

So I signed up for Parkrun. It's a free 5k series that meets saturday mornings at 9am. They're all over europe, too.

Felt pretty good today. I'm still sick, but it was such a nice day, I couldn't let it go to waste. There was a race around/through/near the park this morning. It must have been pretty big because there were large banners along the course which was sort of marked with cones. I was hoping they were in the process of setting up, but that was not the case (although I'm not 100% sure about that). I did find a website that I'm going to check out. It was written on the trail with paint/flour/something white. Before I forget, it was parkrun.dk and the race had something to do with run copenhagen and was called Lød which I later translated to race.

Note

Interviewed a guy from Siemens today as part of my project here in Denmark. When we left, I saw a control with an SI box. I had to go back to the apt. though because of a group meeting, but I searched google for the event, and I found it. After the meeting, I immediately left for the event. When I arrived, though, the event was closed... so i didn't get to run, but I did talk to a guy there who told me they have trainings on tuesdays and thursdays which I have every intention of going to.

Note
(sick)

Woke up feeling significantly less than 100%, although I was definitely above 50%. Hopefully it goes away soon.
