Park Orienteering race 29:33 [3]

Park o event two!

I was pleasantly surprised with the map, i could only remember the park being super open but i really had to navigate and use my compass in the green. I made errors on 3 and 8, i justt was a tad to the side of the controls and couldn't pick which tree each was on. I also messed up number 14, i actually got to 23 before hand, i think i got caught drifting around the thicker stuff and didn't have my exit direction.

Running intervals 15:00 [3]

Terrain ints. I went to a new spot today which was nice.
I did, 3 min, 2 min, 90 sec, 60 sec, 30 sec. With two minutes recovery between each. There was a small bit of hill in each too, which was good.

Warm up/down 18:00 [3]

The warm up was just running around to try to figure out a loop i could do, then the warm down was a bit of a loop in the streets.

Swimming 30:00 [3]

3 sets of ten laps again, but at the end i decided to do butterfly, backstroke, breastroke and freestyle just to make sure i could still do it all. And i didnt drown :)
It was really nice today, there was only one other guy in the pool with me!

Orienteering 45:00 [3]

Last Oshea event, the score course.
I think Angus and i seemed to split the course pretty well! I had the northern loop, and we got back about a minute apart i think it was which was really cool! Pretty happy with my navigation today thank goodness, but i did struggle to get myself going on some of the hills. We both had a looooong track run at the end, and i wanted to make up for the fact that i may have walked a bit of a hill or two and tried to pump it a bit at the end. We ended up winning!! GO TEAM! :D hah
Oh and once again not too sure on my actual time, i lost my splits...

Orienteering 1:10:00 [3]

Im not sure how correct the time is, it was a bit of a guess.
But first race of the Oshea, i ran second, Angus was the best partner and had a brilliant run. However i messed up a control or two and we were behind. It was about control 8 i think which was the bad one, i lost a very indistinct track and then was in the wrong watercourse and didn't realise for ages because the vegetation on the hill was not what i expected at all. Then the last control was a bit of a shocker too, my exit direction was awful. Not to mention the weather, sooooo much rain! it was insane!!!!

Night Orienteering 52:59 [3]

It was really dark and there was rain and thunder and lightening and leaches and i didnt really like it... I struggled alot to see anything other than the rain infront of me, i had no idea even when i was on a track. The start of it in the buildings was great, but as soon as we got into the bush i just struggled alot. Plus, the tracks as well as the watercourses were like rivers which made it that bit more challenging. I was doing the long course, Angus on the medium and because only one of our times was going to count i actually abandoned after the 50 minutes, first time ever i think... :( But i feel like it was an alright course to let myself do it on.

Running intervals 15:00 [3]

Pyramid ints ; 100 200 300 200 100. 2 mins rest between.
Times were 21, 38, 61, 39, and 18. I was pretty happy with how it went i think, i tried to focus on a good running style, i'm not sure how successful i was though.

Warm up/down 18:00 [3]

About a 10 minute warm up and then warm down and stretches. Perhaps a tad slack with the warm down, but it was raining...
