6*3/1. Absolutely shocking today. Legs were tired, it was a windy 35degrees at 8am, and the air was super dry. I just could not get myself going faster today :( I did it, but not very well...

Did a bit of spectating at the Hunter Track Classic last night which was cool! Races that go for three minutes seem like an absolute nightmare but they're fun to watch, some pretty amazing runners there!

So conflicted between wanting more sleep and wanting to not get heat stroke this morning. The first 20 was a struggle to wake up and the last hour was a struggle with the heat, don't think I've ever had such a prominent shorts tan from one run, or run for more than 5 minutes with my singlet off. Home to walka, with some looping at the start to get some hills and at the end to get the time. Happy with it!

Maitland Parkrun. After having a big ache in my right leg all of yesterday afternoon at work I woke up not at all keen. Ended up running a PB for not only Maitland but Newy parkrun aswell which is kinda cool considering how much flatter and faster that one is. Pretty consistent pace the whole way, still a long way to go but it's kinda nice to not feel toooooo slow anymore!

Soooooo so so late holy moly. Should've definitely gone out the Fernleigh track first and then just dropped points on the way back, and I cannot understand what was going through my head to make me not do that... But oh well, good training and it was a good way to make me work hard until the end!

Nothing about Flyers intervals at 12pm on a 40 degree day seemed enjoyable or intelligent so I did a solo session at Walka. Although it was still over 30 degrees at 7am, gross.
10*2/1. Felt sick in the stomach on the warm up but ok for the intervals. It was tough. Pretty jelly legs at the end!

Short long run on the tracks near home. First 30mins was with mum and it wasn't too hot, so pretty enjoyable. Pretty loopy though to get it this long, and i started to get a bit hungry at the end.

Short hills session. 3*1min 6*30seconds. Steep at the very start of the hill so it was a good set! Felt alright today. One easy week almost feels longer than the three hard weeks put together...

Can't get to streeto today so set my alarm early for training, but then the temperature said 33 degrees at 7am and I thought bit of extra time in bed and then a run on the treadmill was even more appealing than that. 15min jog, 20min tempo at a bit of an easier pace, and then another 15min jog. Felt long at times but I was right next to the fan so i'm not complaining.

Couldn't not use the trx bands while I was there so I fit in a small strength session too.

Had a shocker of a headache yesterday and today and i'm worried i'm a little sniffly from not getting enough sleep. Struggling to get to sleep at night because its so warm and then i'm up early to try and run before the worst of it. Will try to have a nap today i think, but i'm yet to decide whether to do that in the pool or in the fridge...

Same as last week but a whole lot easier when it wasn't 40 degrees. 3*3/1. Didn't do any drills in my warm up so my legs didn't know how to move fast for the first one. But I felt good for the other two, and that doesn't always happen so I'm happy!

At Glenrock with the company of mum for the first 40mins or so. Cloud cover meant it was much nicer running conditions today but still super humid. A bit of awkward toing and froing with some mountain bikers on some of the single tracks, one poor lady in particular screamed her whole way down one of the hills before letting me go past. A good few minutes faster on the second loop but I was pretty done at the end.

Realised at about 11 last night that I didn't actually have a way of getting to parkrun so I decided i'd do a run with 2 x 10min tempos in the middle. I find these tough anyway let alone after a 30 degree night which meant a poor sleep and that the whole of the Hunter was already like a sauna at 8am. Didn't feel particularly fast but pleased I managed to work this hard when the air was pretty tough to breathe in.

Legs felt so heavy and tired in the warm up but pleasingly ok on the hills. 8x1min, was getting good distance from the last time I did hills there from memory, and they were consistent. Had a big stack on the downhill before the last rep though, legs were a little too floppy I guess. Pretty lucky I didn't land on a big rock!

Half intervals session after the big week, and then I chose the one with the shortest total time possible because I had to do it at 2pm when it was 39 degrees. Pace was ok but 3*3/1 has never felt so hard. Take me back to Falls!

Love love loved this run. Super pretty views and nice cool weather. First 22minutes was straight up out of te village then along and up to Mt Mckay. Felt better today than all of the other days too, it been like a constant improvement and now we've got to leave! Definitely would be keen for this trip to happen again, a lot!

Classic Nicola went a little too hard at the start and then realised a little too late that I wasnt quite making it back and didn't quite have the extra competitive drive to reeeeally push it. Kinda down that I keep feeling a bit sick in the belly but can't work out if it's just a normal off feeling and I'm being a huge wimp for noticing it. Think I felt strong ish though? This week is going so quick and I still don't feel like I've smashed out a really solid session!

Langfords gap to Fitzgeralds hut loop. So excited to get overtaken by Brett Robinson. Felt alright to the hut but then struggled from the 65min mark. Legs were doing fine still but my stomach / chest wasn't happy. Felt a little better for 5 or so minutes after a quick drink from a stream but that didn't last too long. I rekon I felt the altitude more today, dunno

Had pumped myself up for a solid 6x 1km, 60sec recovery for a good 6 hours. Got to the end of number 3 and was wheezing like crazy, did another at a slower pace but then I really couldnt breathe in enough at all because of that yucky chest/throat pain you get. So had to call it quits early for the first time in ages, and it was here of all places! Very bummed. A bad combination of cold air and hayfever I guess, but the Steers got me telfast on their way up and i think I'll be taking my ventolin with me for the next few days. Lesson learned!

A tad worried about having so many days in a row of just running with the camp this week so I went for the cycle option instead. Alternated 5mins fast/ 5mins more resistance to keep me a little entertained. Real excited for tomorrow now!
