Running 40:10 [3]

Up to Tomaree Lookout which i was very slack with, and then around some extra tracks on the mountain and finished along the beach for a bit. God my legs were jelly after we got up to the top! A few stops for photos up there, got pretty warm by the end too.

Orienteering 43:52 [3]

W21E middle distance course from the NOL at Pelaw Main. Started off pretty good with my nav and then I SAW A SNAKE on the way to number 8 and freaked out. I had to jump over it and it was a red belly black snake and i screamed and felt so sick and from then on i was just real scared and wimpy through all of the grasses. Made a mistakes on number 12, 13 and 15 but im still happy enough. Much better at finding the features without controls today than what i remember i was last time i trained there. Plus i think finishing after seeing that disgusting animal is good enough for me!

Just a jog at Sugarloaf. Tried to push it a bit harder up the hills. Felt soooo so so much better than when we were here last time, but it was also a good 10 degrees cooler thankgoodness.

Orienteering 1:24:00 [3]

Went out to Astleys Tower and did the hard 3/4 course from the long distance race for the Coalfields Classic. So much fun! And i felt relatively ok running! Was a bit airy fairy in the control circles but i think that has to do with some lack of confidence with having no flags. May have used a few too many tracks in my route choices i think but the focus was my exit direction and compass work and im pretty happy with how that went on majority of controls. The tracks were bordering on rivers again but it was a rool nice run.

Running 15:00 [3]

Warm up from the car to the start and warm down from the finish to the car again. Got offered come chicken from a very friendly slightly tipsy man before we started. They parked either side of us and had fighting dogs in cages on the backs of their utes, so so so thankful they were gone when i got back by myself.

A run from home with Thor, it had been raining all day and the tracks were pretty much rivers but it was good fun in the rain. Felt alright actually, especially considering how much talking i was attempting to do.

Didn't have a watch so i'm not too sure about the time, but it was a bit of a shocker. I just felt so flat! Again! Haven't felt good training once in the last week i dont think, kinda frustrating..

10min ish warmup.

Decided to go to Newy Parkrun, tough to make myself go considering how crappy i felt just jogging yesterday (which was at Sugarloaf not Walka, no idea why i wrote that yesterday, oops) and a terrible idea in hind sight because of how bad i did. It was super hot, my legs were tired the entire way and i have run a faster time at maitland when there are actually hills. Not feeling too brilliant about it all right now!

Run at Walka. It was really hot and still and humid and i found it really tough. Had to stop half way at the car for a little drink and opted out of an extra little loop.

Feeling 100x better today, not just in the belly but i actually felt like i had enough energy again today thank god. Decided a cycle was a good idea to come back though, really good class tonight too! Just a bit of a shame the instructor played Jason Derulo and then talked about how beautiful the lyrics were though...

Felt kinda sick all day today... Tried a jog with Malin at Walka and made it around one loop but stopped. Thought i coyld go out for another jog later on if i felt better but i still feel icky. Ill wake up brilliant tomorrow im sure

Orienteering 47:56 [3]

Had a nice jog around the central coast streeto, I usually dread the events when they're ridiculously hot and hilly but today was good. Unfortunately i had some issues with the outside of my lower calves and i had to walk a heap. Started at around 15mins and that was before the sandy bit too so i had a rough time in there, my feet both went numb by the time i was 25mins in. It hasnt happened for ages though and it didnt the entire i was away so ill have a good stretch and all that and try again tomorrow. Kinda kills a few of the positive vibes i brought back from Tassie though..

Probably a good thing the last run i had done wasn't real good navigationally because i was reeeeeally concentrating on not making mistakes. I got a little tired and sloppy with route choices and all that at the end but i cant really complain, pretty happy with it!

I just couldnt focus! Super frustrating because i knew thats why i was making mistakes and i was really enjoying the map and just wanted to navigate well. My compass work was a pretty big issue today..

Really happy with how i started the race! Made an error on control 9 and from then on just couldnt get back into it properly, i think there was only one leg i felt in control for that second half of the course.

Not super happy with today... Positive about how i felt and pushed physically i guess but i lost a fair bit of time out there! Number 4 was the worst- i was expecting my control to be in a watercourse junction but it was on a spur so i ran away thinking i had made a massive mistake. I think that if i'd looked at descriptions i would've been alright but there were so many controls today where i only navigated to the circle and because it wasn't great visibility i didnt see the control and wasn't confident. Really need to work on navigating to the actual feature!!

A very long and hot day today so i feel happy to have felt able to get around the course well enough aha. Very happy with the result but it wasn't a brilliant run. I lost 50 seconds on one control from route choice and stuffing around in the circle. I didnt see the control so ran back away from the buildings to make sure i was right when i just hadn't gone far enough into the corner of the buildings. Also got a bit stuck from a fence i didnt see so maybe lost another 20-30 seconds there, im terrible at estimating time though so not exactly sure aha. Super fun though!!

Jogged around the womens sprint qual with Mary. Not in the finest of orienteering forms but it was a real cool course i thought!
