Orienteering 22:03 [3]

5-days day 5. Pretty tricky! I did loop 3, then 2 then 1 and silly me got a penalty on my first loop. Think i was foolish enough to pick the tree what i thought was in line with a park bench but obviously i wasn't oriented quite north. Learnt from that though and my problems for the rest were just from not planning ahead enough. Good finish to the five days though! Legs didn't have much go in them by the end...

5-Days day 4. A little disappointed with my fitness today, i felt like as soon as there was a slight hill or it got a bit thick or rocky i was just gone! Was on real struggle street by the time we had the oval run so i dont even want to know how much of a subby i looked 'running' across there. Not too many navigational issues though which is positive and will make me feel a bit better going to tassie. Still find myself doubting nearly all of my route choice decisions though so i really have to work on that! I feel like tomorrow will be pretty rough for the legs...

5-days day 3. Not brilliant! Made a silly mistake at the start and missed out a control so spent agessss going around a silly route to get it. Then i think i just made bad decisions and spent too much time getting the small pointers, plus i was really early. Was a bit weak on two of the sets of stairs but i made it up the rest and the hills, pretty tough on the legs!

5-days Day 2. So fun! Figured it would be quite tricky so i took it pretty easy from the start to make sure. Lost about 20 secs on number 12, i went to the top of the stairs with which was further to run to start with and then ended up having to go down the stairs to the actual control which was sloooow. Then lost another 5 secs on number 17 because i went to the wrong corner of the wall junction. Josh taught me how to work it out on the control descriptions though so hopefully i wont do that again! Relatively happy with the run still though!

5-days Day 1. Long sprints are so rough. Not too sure on my route choice to number 16, exited 18 headed towards number 20 and lost some time there, and then went too far left to number 24. Was struggling by the end and i slowed considerably but it was a good time!

From home with dad. I don't think either of us felt too crash hot, it was sooooo so so warm already! Didnt do any training yesterday, just a bit of tennis and a little cruise (in the rain) on MY NEW BIKE to a friends place. Happy days! Looking forward to the five days now :)

Big Foot Sprints! Lost a bit of time on both of the courses but it was good to have an orienteering race again, felt like it had been waaaay too long. Started 4seconds behind dad on the second loop! We were both as silly as each other early on and made some bad mistakes so twas some good racing! aha

Run from home. Attempted some surges after 15mins and after them it was straight into the two biggest hills for the run so after that it was hard to keep up an ok pace. I can make myself keep going alot better than i used to but im just not fast...

Went out for a run with Dad and Josh which was super nice! From my Aunty's house to the Boambee head lookout, then along the beach to the next headland and back home through Sawtell. Josh got away from me on the sand but he made me stride out to keep up with him when he picked up the pace for the last km. Good effort for a hot morning after a bit of a late night, especially for dad - if his scategory efforts were anything to go by he had a fair few wines.

My calves are ridiculously sore after yesterday and a run wasn't looking real good so i stayed for a 'Tabata' gym class. 6 stations of 8x 20secs on 10 secs off of a fair few different exercises. Actually a pretty good class!

Orienteering 1:20:16 [3]

Went to Sal and Steve's mtbo event and did the score course on foot. Had fallen over twice by the time i got to the start but things improved from there. Went around on the tracks a bit more than i probably should have but i guess when all the controls are on tracks it's not too silly. I was a bit too slack with my aiming off at times though, and i lost a bit of concentration at the end. So good for me to be back in the bush though! Greatest way to do a long run i think

Pyramid intervals around the lake at Walka. 1min, 2min, 3min, 4min, 3, 2, 1 with 1min recovery. Been a while since i've tried to do faster training so i thought i should make sure i can still get the legs turning. Definitely slowed down on the 3 and 4 min efforts but i think i finished relatively strong. Was not enjoying lunch as much when running as i did while eating it...

Running (Streeto - Raymond Terrace) 44:44 [3] 8.3 km (5:23 / km)

Not too bad of a run! Pretty hilly so i'm happy to have got this distance. Made a bit of a silly route choice decision when i was crossing over the main road because i didn't make a decision on what to do early enough but i think i could've only got one or maaaaybe two more points. Probably the first time this season i've been back in a good time which is nice! haha.

Body Blitz at the gym, my arms are so sore. Got a bit of a sore left hamstring after some of the deadlifts but i think itll be all good.

Running 17:10 [3] 3.41 km (5:02 / km)

Ran part of the way home from the gym, my legs were soooo jelly. Hamstring was ok as long as i didnt stride out too much but i was just tired and lethargic so this was enough. Bit wimpy really... At least my garmin was working again today!

Long enough run at Glenrock with Josh and Macey. What an adventure! Little bit of single tracks, little bit of bush bashing, some sand running, some stairs, and a bit on the Fernleigh track. Thank goodness for the guys because i was very, very disoriented by the end. Legs felt pretty tired today. Oh and my GPS wasn't working again! Not a clue why...

14 min warm up around uni and then a little 3min jog to the car at the end. It got real warm!

Orienteering intervals 45:00 [3]

Sprintervals at the Uni with Josh, Macey and mum. Mum set two lots of four loops, each 500m-ish straight line. Think each set ended up being about 2.5km? Really good fun! Had a bit of a break in between each of the sets to get to the next start, not alot of rest between the intervals though because the mozzies were absolutely insane so we just went as soon as each of us were back and switched maps. First four were all good i just may have taken some slower route choices. Started to get a bit tired on the last one of the second set and made a few little mistakes. My garmin wasn't working properly though so i have no idea on my speed, i felt like i pushed pretty hard though.

Two of the big laps of walka, considered another little loop but it was just a bit too hot for me so i chickened out. Wasn't focussed at all on how fast i running today i just wanted to do get a decent run done! And funnily enough it feels pretty good to have tired legs from running again!
