Running warm up/down 20:00 [3]

Soooooo not a fan of a 15 minuteish warm up around a track, dizzy stuff! Then a three lap warm down.

Running intervals 35:00 [3]

Intervals at Glendale with Macey and Angus, and coach Josh on the sideline.
I did 4 sets of 200m, 200m, 400m. 30 seconds in between runs and 3 minutes in between sets. Then josh got me to do some running drills after because i look like 'a massive spastic running'. Just some high knees and bum kicks and lunges etc, but i honestly was starting to get tingling toes because i could not for the life of me make my legs move faster no matter how hard i tried, the most frustrating thing everrrrr! Anyway my hamstrings are not feeling brilliant still, and after today my hip flexers are feeling pretty tight too so maybe just like a swim would be nice for tomorrow i think...

Out at walka. Tried to not just jog and it wasnt too easy on the legs! I had a good stretch session last night but i may have gone overboard, my hammies were a tad sore running. The sky was nice and pink tonight, really pretty :)

So i may get to back logging easter a bit later on but i'm trying to not let myself use it as a procrastination technique, but i suppose this is one too... Anyway it was a really good week though!!

Orienteering race 1:12:10 [3]

No real mistakes, just some real hesitant controls that I thought would cost me, and I didn’t feel super fast up the hills. But I suppose everyone was feeling just as wrecked! Tried a gel, thank goodness I gave it a go at a water control though, ill have to practice that if I want to be able to get them down in a race ugh! But it was a really nice way to end the week, feel pretty happy :)

Orienteering race (Sprint Relay) 17:11 [3]

Not the greatest run. I made an error on number 4 so had to play a bit of catch up and then again on number 11. Just did not love that it was so much like a running race though, a little more splitting would’ve made it a bit more interesting I think but it just wasn’t my kinda race. Made me push myself physically though I suppose.

Orienteering (Dungeree Challenge) 37:40 [3]

Decided following easter that I should work on my compass work. I think I get a little slack at times with looking up to make sure I really follow the right direction. So I attempted to go as straight as possible for the course, a little tough with the scratchy bushes but josh made sure to tell me to toughen up and go through it before I started so I soldiered through! First and last loops were pretty good I think, I got a bit tired on the middle loop though and slacked off a bit.

Orienteering race (Easter Day 3) 58:56 [3]

I was happy I think I made a good decision for the long leg number one, but then lost about two minutes on number two. Still not entirely sure how I missed the control but I definitely wasn’t careful enough coming in to the circle. From then on no mistakes I just am really cranky I was so slack with running to number 12. Michele and I had the same loops but she just ran away from me on that leg!

Orienteering race (Easter Day 2) 1:02:29 [3]

The not too long long distance! Not too bad of a run again, If you take out the fact i lost around 3 minutes from route choice on number 4. I had the right Idea for me I think but I just cut through to the control too soon and should’ve stayed a bit wider to have nicer running. I would’ve like a few more controls in the rock but looking at the splits it’s nice to notice I wasn’t losing too much time towards the end when they were more running orientated legs.

Orienteering race (Easter Day 1) 30:35 [3]

The plan for the first control was to be really careful if I had to go straight into the rock, so I took a bit of a wider route choice to be safe but ended up losing time from my attackpoint to the control because of a really dodgy bearing, so that was a bit frustrating. From then on it wasn’t too bad until I felt I just crashed physically at about control 10, not sure if I went out too hard trying to make up time from the early mistake or if it was just more noticeable because of the more open running, either way I was pretty dead for the last few running controls!

Orienteering race (Prologue) 18:05 [3]

Started off pretty alright i think, i was navigating pretty smooth. Had a bit of poor exit on the way to number 8 and ended up going way too wide, then the same on number nine which left me super hesitant because it was a longer control. Lost most of my time on number 12 though, i got tired and had a really bad bearing from the spectator and ended up pretty far from the control. I picked it up a bit again at the end though so i wasn't too disheartened!

Running 35:00 [3]

Unfortunately yesterday wasn't kind to me with time and i didnt get to fit in my training so i headed from work to the track with macey josh and angus. Wasn't too keen on doing like real intervals but thought it would be a good chance to get my legs ticking over.
Started off with a 15 min warm up run. Then i did 5x 200m - one starting every second of their 300's, so the recovery was nice and long. Pleasantly surprised with the times i was running though, a tad suspicious maybe my watch was going slow because it's nearly flat but it redeemed a bit of confidence about my running before the weekend :)) Then a bit of a jog warm down, maybe like 10 mins ish.

Missed out on group training today to join in on the seminar, felt guilty i didn't fit in strength but it turns out they all woosed out with the rain anyway ;) Just a little jog around ashtonfield, it's gotten really cold this week!

Orienteering 36:09 [3]

NOY 2 on a new map! It was super visible which was awesome for newcastle. Pretty good run except for number 10, i think i lost like 2 or 3 minutes on that one, i just didn't see the gully i needed for some reason and ended up going way too far past the control. Felt alot better today though i think!

Ran on the Metford map spelling out the word "Run", hopefully ill get a little more inventive with words over time but this was for a little uni thing. Felt a little fat and sluggish but it wasn't as bad as earlier on in the week which was nicer. It started to get dark though and you do not want to be outdoors in Metford so i stopped a little early, but at least i'm still alive!

Training today was such an ordeal! Went to smyth oval to do intervals but there was an athletics carnival on, then i decided to brave metford oval to discover there are no longer any lanes marked there... So then i drove all the way back to walka and did intervals on time instead.
Ended up doing 2x 45sec, 2x 1:40, 2x 3:20.
It was tough! The last two were either up and down the little hills or straight into the wind too, just to make it that little more uncomfortable... I Haven't felt super good about my training all week though which is not ideal so close to easter, i just feel a little flat. Hopefully i can get a good sleep and have a good stretch and feel a little revived on the weekend.

oh and a 15min warm up and 10min warm down jog, then a little walk around the rest of the lake to the car because i was buggered.

Jog from home. My legs felt pretty heavy and lethargic, possibly because of a really lazy morning though im thinking. Hopefully i perk up a bit for netball tonight!

First loss for the angels tonight... So we drowned our sorrows in a $10 schnitzel and the lego movie ;)

Running long 1:15:10 [3]

Long run at sugarloaf. It was super foggy and creepy at the start but it was really good running conditions, a little bit of rain and wind and the fog actually looked kinda pretty. Legs were a little stiff from yesterday but they warmed up alright, the hills are always nice and tough out there though!

Newy Parkrun.
I can't believe how much slower it must be running parkrun at maitland! A whole minute 16 faster than last week and i wasn't feeling any better i dont think, the hills and turns must make such a difference! A tad tight in the chest but it wasnt too bad of a run, pretty cool to do so much faster even if it was just the course aha.

Running intervals 40:00 [3]

just over 10 warm up and warm down.

3min, 2min, 90sec, 60sec, 30sec terrain intervals. Majority was on bush tracks but i got in the terrain for parts. Unfortunately there was alot of fog and spider webs and Kangaroos so i wasn't exactly feeling super keen to go off the tracks, it was just super creepy! I changed the 2 min rest to equal rest after the first two aswell, i didnt want to go slow for too long with all the predators around.

Straight to the gym after work for the cycle class where it turned out it was Rhiana was taking the class, so that was a pretty cool surprise. She killed it too :)

Running hills 48:00 [3]

13ish min warm up with josh. Had an awful headache all afternoon so the warm up was a tad uncomfortable. It seemed to fade away though after that thankgod.
3 sets of 5x 20sec hill intervals. Have myself a lil high five after the third one, i crushed it ;)
13ish min warm down again. Walka gets kind of scary when it's dark... Plus it smelt pretty filthy around the lake tonight :/
